  • Publication number: 20240075191
Abstract: The disclosed subject matter relates to extracorporeal blood processing or other processing of fluids. Volumetric fluid balance, a required element of many such processes, may be achieved with multiple pumps or other proportioning or balancing devices which are to some extent independent of each other. This need may arise in treatments that involve multiple fluids. Safe and secure mechanisms to ensure fluid balance in such systems are described.

  • Patent number: 8309943
Abstract: An apparatus for producing light includes a chamber and an ignition source that ionizes a gas within the chamber. The apparatus also includes at least one laser that provides energy to the ionized gas within the chamber to produce a high brightness light. The laser can provide a substantially continuous amount of energy to the ionized gas to generate a substantially continuous high brightness light.

  • Publication number: 20070052296
Abstract: This invention features a more compact and higher reliability power source system for computing loads, the system including a high voltage DC bus connected to a number of DC sources each connected to the high voltage DC bus by a switch configured to deliver to the high voltage DC bus the DC source with the highest DC voltage, a low voltage DC bus connected to the computing loads, and a power supply including a number of DC/DC converters connected in parallel between the high voltage DC bus and the low voltage DC bus, a controller configured to modulate each DC/DC converter to convert the high voltage on the high voltage DC bus to a low voltage output on the low voltage DC bus, and a plurality of power supply modules each including a plurality of DC/DC converters and a controller; and wherein the power supply is housed in a cabinet.

  • Patent number: 6900557
Abstract: A compact transformer coupled modulator is described. The modulator includes a transformer comprising a primary and a plurality of secondary windings, where each secondary winding has an output terminal. The modulator also includes a plurality of switches, where each switch is associated with a respective secondary winding and has input and output terminals and a control terminal. The control terminal of each switch is in electrical communication with a respective output terminal of the plurality of secondary windings. Each of the plurality of switches is substantially simultaneously switched by an input signal applied to the primary.
