Patent number: 11219478Abstract: A surgical tool for removing a portion of an implant is provided that includes a housing, a motor contained within the housing and coupled to the housing, and an output shaft having a distal end and a proximal end opposite the distal end, wherein the proximal end is coupled to the motor and the distal end has an opening configured to rotateably engage an implant. The surgical tool further includes a counter-torque sleeve extending around the output shaft having a proximal end and a distal end opposite the proximal end, wherein the proximal end is coupled to the housing and the distal end is configured to couple to the implant relative to the counter-torque sleeve. Upon a rotational force to the implant, the forces transmitted by the output shaft and the counter-torque sleeve are balanced by the coupling of the output shaft and counter-torque sleeve through the housing.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 2019Date of Patent: January 11, 2022Assignee: Warsaw Orthopedic, Inc.Inventors: Jeff Beale, Harold Taylor, Jeffrey Chapin, Timothy Proulx, Jared Alden Judson

Publication number: 20210022518Abstract: A mattress identification system is described having a mattress having a mattress top panel, a mattress foot, a mattress bottom panel and comprising a plurality of foam layers. The system has: a) a twill pattern on the mattress top panel has a first loft comprising essentially parallel straight lines that extends to an upper part of the mattress foot; b) a first fabric portion that covers approximately ? of the mattress foot below the twill pattern that extends to the upper part of the mattress foot; c) a second fabric portion that covers approximately ? of the mattress foot below the twill pattern that extends to the upper part of the mattress foot; and d) a zipper assembly.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 27, 2020Publication date: January 28, 2021Inventors: Jeffrey Chapin, Martin Kay, Ara Acle, Rebecca (Caroline) Cockerham, John-Rhys Newman, David Northway, Russell Jelinek, Joshua Chen, Xin (Vincent) Wang, Michael James

Patent number: 10736300Abstract: A foam-based dog bed with no loose fiber comprising 5 components: 4 identical bolsters and 1 internal mattress is described. Both the internal mattress and bolsters may be comprised of 2-layers of different foam qualities. The foam pieces are wrapped in foam sheaths to make stuffing and un-stuffing into the outer fabric cover easier. The outer fabric cover is comprised of a top fabric, border fabric and bottom fabric. The top fabric incorporates specifically tailored wrinkles to allow a dog to dig, scratch, and prepare their bed. On the bottom panel of the dog bed is an outer perimeter zipper. The outer zipper starts and stops at a zipper pocket, which also serves as a hinge to open/close the bottom panel. The zipper pocket holds the zipper pull to prevent a dog from biting at it.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 2017Date of Patent: August 11, 2020Assignee: Casper Sleep Inc.Inventors: Jesse Menayan, Carly Price, Jeffrey Chapin, Jonathan Belfort, Gen Suzuki, Brittany Kleinman

Patent number: 10478235Abstract: A surgical tool for removing a portion of an implant is provided that includes a housing, a motor contained within the housing and coupled to the housing, and an output shaft having a distal end and a proximal end opposite the distal end, wherein the proximal end is coupled to the motor and the distal end has an opening configured to rotatably engage an implant. The surgical tool further includes a counter-torque sleeve extending around the output shaft having a proximal end and a distal end opposite the proximal end, wherein the proximal end is coupled to the housing and the distal end is configured to couple to the implant relative to the counter-torque sleeve. Upon a rotational force to the implant, the forces transmitted by the output shaft and the counter-torque sleeve are balanced by the coupling of the output shaft and counter-torque sleeve through the housing.Type: GrantFiled: January 4, 2017Date of Patent: November 19, 2019Assignee: Warsaw Orthopedic, Inc.Inventors: Jeff Beale, Harold Taylor, Jeffrey Chapin, Timothy Proulx, Jared Alden Judson
