  • Publication number: 20230045859
Abstract: Deep learning methods and systems for detecting biomarkers within optical coherence tomography volumes using such deep learning methods and systems are provided. Embodiments predict the presence or absence of clinically useful biomarkers in OCT images using deep neural networks. The lack of available training data for canonical deep learning approaches is overcome in embodiments by leveraging a large external dataset consisting of foveal scans using transfer learning. Embodiments represent the three-dimensional OCT volume by “tiling” each slice into a single two dimensional image, and adding an additional component to encourage the network to consider local spatial structure. Methods and systems, according to embodiments are able to identify the presence or absence of AMD-related biomarkers on par with clinicians. Beyond identifying biomarkers, additional models could be trained, according to embodiments, to predict the progression of these biomarkers over time.

  • Patent number: 11578687
Abstract: An intake manifold is for a marine engine having a throttle for controlling flow of intake air to the marine engine. The intake manifold has a plenum for receiving the intake air from the throttle, a plurality of intake runners which extends from upstream ends for receiving the intake air from the plenum to downstream ends for discharging the intake air to the marine engine, and a quarter wave resonator extending from an open end coupled to the plenum to a closed end, the quarter wave resonator having a tuned elongated cavity configured to attenuate sound emanating from the marine engine via the plurality of intake runners.

  • Patent number: 10556658
Abstract: A marine drive includes an engine; an exhaust conduit that conveys exhaust gases from the engine to an idle relief outlet on the marine drive, wherein the idle relief outlet discharges the exhaust gases to atmosphere when the marine drive is operated at an idle speed; and an idle relief muffler having a muffler inlet that receives the exhaust gases from the exhaust conduit, a muffler outlet that discharges the exhaust gases to the idle relief exhaust outlet, and a drain for draining water from the idle relief muffler. The muffler inlet conveys exhaust gases into the idle relief muffler in a direction that is oriented away from the muffler outlet and away from the drain, such that water in the exhaust gases is encouraged to separate from the exhaust gases and then drain from the idle relief muffler via the drain.
