  • Publication number: 20240375910
Abstract: A reel based closure device for tensioning a tension member is described herein. The reel based closure device includes a housing that defines a vertical axis, a plurality of teeth operably coupled with the housing, a spool rotatably positioned within the housing, and an engagement member comprising one or more teeth that engage with the plurality of teeth during a rotation of the spool. A dial or knob is operably coupled with the spool so that a rotation of the dial or knob effects the rotation of the spool to wind the tension member about the spool. A length of each tooth that is operably coupled with the housing is substantially longer than a length of each tooth of the engagement member.

  • Publication number: 20240261580
Abstract: Implantable medical devices include circuitry positioned adjacent to header-related structures, rather than having the header and related structures sitting atop the position of the circuitry within a device housing. A circuit board within the device housing may be positioned adjacently to a lead bore of the header. Feedthrough conductors may extend from the circuitry to conductors of the header while being positioned adjacently to the circuit board. Lead frame conductors may extend to the electrical connectors of the lead bores while also being adjacent to the upper portion of the circuitry. Device height may be reduced by having the circuitry be positioned adjacent to one or more of the various header-related structures.

  • Patent number: 11740025
Abstract: The present disclosure describes heat exchangers for converting thermal energy stored in solid particles to electricity. Electro-thermal energy storage converts off-peak electricity into heat for thermal energy storage, which may be converted back to electricity, for example during peak-hour power generation. The heat exchanger for converting thermal energy stored in solid particles to electricity enables the conversion of thermal energy into electrical energy for redistribution to the grid. In some embodiments, pressurized fluidized-bed heat exchangers may achieve efficient conversion of thermal energy to electricity by providing direct contact of the solid particles with a gas stream.

  • Patent number: 11688186
Abstract: Systems and methods for rapidly developing annotated computer models of structures and properties is provided. The system generates three-dimensional (3D) models of structures and property using a wide variety of digital imagery, and/or can process existing 3D models created by other systems. The system processes the 3D models to automatically identify candidate objects within the 3D models that may be suitable for annotation, such as roof faces, chimneys, windows, gutters, etc., using computer vision techniques to automatically identify such objects. Once the candidate objects have been identified, the system automatically generates user interface screens which gather relevant information related to the candidate objects, so as to rapidly obtain, associate, and store annotation information related to the candidate objects.

  • Patent number: 11631992
Abstract: The disclosure relates to particle heaters for heating solid particles to store electrical energy as thermal energy. Thermal energy storage directly converts off-peak electricity into heat for thermal energy storage, which may be converted back to electricity, for example during peak-hour power generation. The particle heater is an integral part of an electro-thermal energy storage system, as it enables the conversion of electrical energy into thermal energy. As described herein, particle heater designs are described that provide efficient heating of solid particles in an efficient and compact configuration to achieve high energy density and low cost.

  • Publication number: 20230098669
Abstract: The invention is directed to the selective dual wavelength olefin metathesis polymerization for additive manufacturing. Dual-wavelength stereolithographic printing uses ring-opening metathesis polymerization of the metathesis-active polymers. As an example, a resin formulation based on dicyclopentadiene was produced using a photolatent olefin metathesis catalyst, various photosensitizers and photobase generators to achieve efficient initiation by light at one wavelength (e.g., blue) and fast catalyst decomposition and polymerization deactivation by light at a second wavelength (e.g., ultraviolet). This process enables 2-dimensional stereolithographic printing, either using photomasks or with patterned, collimated light. Importantly, the same process was readily adapted for 3-dimensional continuous additive manufacturing, with printing rates of up to 36 mm h?1 for patterned light and up to 180 mm h?1 using un-patterned, high intensity light.
