Patent number: 9327301Abstract: A disposable cartridge assembly for use with a paint spray gun is disclosed, being made out of an inexpensive material, such as plastic, wherein the paint flows into the cartridge assembly and is sucked out of the tip of the cartridge assembly by the force of pressurized air flowing around the cartridge assembly and past the cartridge assembly fluid spray tip opening, thereby atomizing the paint, allowing for an even application of the paint onto a working surface, such as an automobile body. The inexpensive material allows the cartridge to be disposed of after use, rather than cleaned. Further, keeping the paint within the cartridge assembly and away from any inner workings of the paint spray gun reduces or eliminates the need to clean the spray gun after use.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 2008Date of Patent: May 3, 2016Inventor: Jeffrey D. Patent number: 9085762Abstract: The invention relates to compositions and methods utilizing split polymerase enzymes composed of at least two discrete polypeptides that stably associate to form a single polymerase. The invention further relates to nucleic acid constructs for expressing the split polymerases of the invention, and methods for using the split polymerases of the invention. The enzymes of the invention are useful in many applications calling for the detectable labeling of nucleic acids and are particularly useful in quantitative PCR (QPCR) and DNA sequencing applications.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 2007Date of Patent: July 21, 2015Assignee: Agilent Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Holly Hogrefe, Lydia Wu, Jeffrey D. Patent number: 8899501Abstract: A spray paint gun having a disposable cartridge inserted therein such that paint can flow through the cartridge in the spray gun without touching the spray gun. Since no part of the spray gun has paint touching it, there is no cleaning of the spray gun or its components. The cartridges can be easily inserted into the spray gun and easily removed such that different color paints can be used in the spray gun in quick succession without down time for cleaning. There is no use of solvents for cleaning, making the cartridge spray gun environmentally friendly. The disposable cartridges eliminate expensive time consuming cleaning. The cartridges can be breach loaded into the front portion of a spray gun and front portion containing the cartridge can quickly snapped into place and ready for use by a hinged connection to the rear portion or by other connection means.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 2011Date of Patent: December 2, 2014Assignee: SATA GmbH & Co. KGInventors: Jeffrey D. Fox, Ewald Schmon, Jens Bros

Patent number: 6079678Abstract: The assembly is used with a conventional intravenous stand having a generally vertically disposed pole. An upper support includes a first body having a bore receiving an adjusting screw adapted to engage the pole for securing the upper support in adjusted position on the pole. A support member defines a downwardly facing recess adapted to fit over the upper edge of the headboard of a hospital bed. The support member also includes a pair of free ends slidably supported within bores in the body and held in place by clamping screws. A lower support includes a second body having a bore receiving a second adjusting screw adapted to engage the pole. A pair of independently movable support arms have outer ends which are movable toward and away from one another. The inner ends of the arms are slidably supported within bores in the second body and are held in place by clamping screws.Type: GrantFiled: October 22, 1998Date of Patent: June 27, 2000Inventors: Jeffery C. Schott, Marc D. Schott, Jeffrey D. Fox

Patent number: 4697318Abstract: An adaptable machining system includes a plurality of transport units mounted on a machine base with each transport unit carrying a system-standard mounting plate that receives a tool-carrying module. Each tool-carrying module includes a machining tool and associated motor mounted on a system-standard tooling plate which, with the mounting plate of the transport unit, define a system-standard tooling interface. The transport units, under the coordinated control of a system controller, advance their respective tooling modules to and from a work piece to accomplish their machining function. The mounting plate of each transport unit establishes an orthogonal reference system relative to the operating axes of the machine so that the position of each tool carried on a tooling module is known relative to the operating axes of the machine.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 1985Date of Patent: October 6, 1987Assignee: The J. Patent number: 4697799Abstract: A support for sensing the proper positioning of a workpiece and holding the workpiece for a machining operation in response to the proper positioning includes elements for sensing the position of the workpiece at a plurality of locations on the workpiece and a power drive mechanism for operating a clamp to secure the workpiece in the proper position. The sensing elements are connected in series to a power source and are actuated by engagement with predetermined locations on the workpiece when the workpiece is in the proper position. The clamp includes clamp arms which swing laterally away from seats for the workpiece as the clamp arms are moved forward to release one workpiece and accept another.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 1986Date of Patent: October 6, 1987Assignee: The J.
