  • Patent number: 8620681
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of holding laboratory test results in a computerized environment. A first laboratory test result is received, and is related to one or more other laboratory tests that comprise a healthcare order. It is determined whether the test results of the order have been received. If they have all been received, the test results are compared to predefined criteria and are determined to be considered normal. Once determined to be considered normal, the order is automatically verified. If the tests results of the healthcare order have not all been received, the first laboratory test result is held until all of the test results have been received.

  • Publication number: 20120197538
Abstract: A method in a computer system for the review and authentication of clinical laboratory result values is provided. The method includes receiving patient data. The method also includes accessing review criteria. The method further includes comparing the patient data and the review criteria to determine if the patient data should be routed for review. The method further includes routing qualified patient data to a review hierarchy including at least one review queue defined by at least one user.

  • Patent number: 8204694
Abstract: In one embodiment the present invention relates to a method for automatically tracking blood product administration in a computerized healthcare environment. Information regarding a blood product unit received by the blood bank department is documented in a database. An indication that the blood product unit has been administered to the patient by a healthcare provider is received and the database is automatically updated to reflect that the blood product unit has been administered to the patient. The present invention also relates to a method for automatically notifying a blood bank database of administration of a blood product to a patient in a computerized healthcare environment is provided.

  • Patent number: 8032306
Abstract: A computerized system and method for processing patient vital signs during blood product administration in a computerized healthcare environment is provided. A blood product to be administered to a patient is identified. The patient is identified. Vital signs for the patient are received during blood product administration by a healthcare provider and automatically, without user intervention, the vital signs for the patient are documented in a database.

  • Patent number: 8005622
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for safely transfusing blood to a patient in a computerized healthcare environment is provided. A blood product to be administered to a patient is identified and the patient is identified. A database containing a plurality of blood compatibility test results is accessed and it is determined whether the database contains a blood compatibility test result for the identified blood product and identified patient. If so, it is determined whether the test result indicates that the identified blood product is compatible for the identified patient.

  • Patent number: 7769597
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of holding laboratory test results in a computerized environment. The method receives a laboratory test result for a healthcare order for a patient. The healthcare order comprises multiple laboratory tests. The method determines whether all of the test results for the healthcare order have been received. If all of the test results for the healthcare order have not been received, the laboratory test result is held until all of the results for the healthcare order have been received. If all of the results for the healthcare order have been received, the method compares each test result of the healthcare order to predefined criteria to determine whether each test result for the healthcare order is within a predetermined acceptable range. If each of the test results for the healthcare order is within the acceptable range, the entire order is automatically verified.
