    Abstract: Embodiments described herein generally relate to an assembly for mating a retention clip to a bumper cover. The assembly includes a mating hole adapter including a body having a through hole of a first inner diameter. The assembly further includes a bumper cover including a through hole of a second inner diameter, where the first inner diameter of the through hole of the mating hole adapter is less than the second inner diameter of the through hole of the bumper cover. The assembly further includes a retention clip including a fastener having an outer diameter that is substantially equal to the first inner diameter, where the retention clip is mated with the bumper cover by the through hole of the mating hole adapter.

In the extended position, a portion of the plunger element can extend into the clip receiving cavity.

    Abstract: A gap assessment tool includes a base and an edge probe. The base fits to an exterior exhaust element of a vehicle, and includes the first of a pair of defined measurement locations. The edge probe is supported by the base for movement to an extended position in which, with the base fitted to the exterior exhaust element, the edge probe contacts an edge of an exterior body panel of the vehicle spaced from the exterior exhaust element, and includes the second of the pair of defined measurement locations. With the base fitted to the exterior exhaust element, and with the edge probe moved to the extended position and contacting the edge of the exterior body panel, a measurement between the pair of defined measurement locations is indicative of a part of a gap between the exterior exhaust element and the edge of the exterior body panel.
