  • Publication number: 20120158434
Abstract: A display device may display to a user questions related to insurance products. The user may be a business owner, and the questions may solicit information that may be used to determine which of the insurance products are applicable to the user's business. Input data may be received from a user that is responsive to the questions. The input data may indicate, for example, the type of industry of the business, the number of employees in the business, the business's annual revenue, and/or goals of the user with respect to the insurance products. A determination may be made as to which of the insurance products are applicable to the business. The user may then obtain additional information related to the applicable products, initiate the purchase of one of the applicable products, and/or enter into a binding agreement for the purchase of one of the applicable product.

  • Patent number: 7823514
Abstract: A hopper car has arcuate side sheets that are bent over the forming members of the structure to give a generally outwardly bulging shape. The upper margin of the side sheet is kinked inwardly of the radius of curvature of the larger portion of the side sheet more generally, such as may tend to impose a bending moment on the large, relatively thin side sheet panels. This may in turn tend to urge or bias those panels to a bulging position or shape, rather than a sagging, deflected, or inwardly dented position.

Date of Patent: November 2, 2010
    Assignee: National Steel Car Limited

  • Patent number: 5695258
Abstract: A portable, single-car test unit for a railway freight brake control valve for manually executing pressure manipulations to evaluate the operating conditions of the control valve. The pipe bracket portion is connected to a brake pipe, an auxiliary reservoir, an emergency reservoir, a brake cylinder retaining valve and a brake cylinder each being connected to a respective fluid passageway. The test unit accesses the fluid passageways at access ports, respectively connected to each passageway. Valves are utilized in the test unit to manipulate the pressure in the fluid passageways and pressure gauges measure fluid pressure in the passageways. An operator records each pressure measurement and calculates and stores the differences between selected pairs of the pressure measurements as well as elapsed time data for the measurements.

  • Patent number: 5559281
Abstract: A test connector for connecting an air brake test device to access ports of an air brake control valve device where such access ports are normally closed by check valves. A plurality of actuator devices corresponding in number to the access ports are provided in the test connector to unseat the check valves and conduct test air to the test device via central passages in the actuators. The actuators are piston operated in response to a pilot pressure received from a source of compressed air remote from the connector.

  • Patent number: 5509727
Abstract: A portable, microprocessor controlled single-car test unit for a railway freight brake control valve for automatically executing pressure manipulations to evaluate the operating conditions of the control valve. Valves are utilized in the test unit to manipulate the pressure in the fluid passageways and pressure transducers measure fluid pressure in the passageways. The pressure transducers are controlled by a computer having a microprocessor connected to an input output device. The computer records and stores each pressure measurement, and calculates and stores the differences between selected pairs of the pressure measurements as well as elapsed time data for the measurements.

  • Patent number: 5293777
Abstract: A hinge assembly for a manual or automatic air brake valve test fixture that includes a secondary test plate to which a valve device to be tested is mounted from a front load position and then rotated to its usual side location for clamping to the primary test plate, thereby relieving the tester of physical strain encountered heretofore in mounting the valve in a side load position. The hinge assembly is spring-loaded to obtain even, face-to-face engagement of the mating surfaces of the primary and secondary test plates and thereby assure the integrity of the pressure seal therebetween.
