  • Publication number: 20230346578
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to delivery devices for transcatheter stented prosthesis loading, delivery and implantation. The delivery devices provide a loaded delivery state in which the stented prosthesis is loaded and compressed over the delivery device. The compression of the stented prosthesis can be adjusted with one or more elongate tension members, which extend around the stented prosthesis and proximately to an actuation and release assembly that can be provided as part of a handle assembly. The delivery device can be manipulated to adjust tension in the tension members to permit the stented prosthesis to compress, self-expand, and ultimately release from the shaft assembly. In some embodiments, the tension in one or more tension members is adjusted with one or more actuation and release assemblies.

  • Publication number: 20220323148
Abstract: The disclosure includes methods, systems and devices for severing and optionally removing at least a portion of heart valve leaflets. Leaflets can be partially removed or entirely removed or otherwise, the leaflets can be severed or splayed in such a way as to avoid coronary blockage, LVOT obstruction, or access challenges in procedures where a prosthetic valve is to be implanted within a previously implanted prosthetic valve. The disclosure also relate to numerous devices for and methods of disabling one or more valve ligating devices to provide an unobstructed valve opening so that a prosthetic heart valve can be implanted within the opening. The ligation device(s) is disabled either by removing the ligation device(s) or severing one leaflet so that ligated leaflets can be separated. In some embodiments, the ligation device(s) are severed to disable the ligation device(s).

  • Publication number: 20130184727
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a vessel support system and a method of vessel harvesting. The system can include a cutting device, a catheter adapted to be inserted into a section of the vessel in order to support the vessel as the cutting device is advanced over the vessel, and a cannula adapted to be coupled to the vessel and adapted to receive the catheter as the catheter is inserted into the section of the vessel. The method can include orienting a cutting device coaxially with the cannula and the catheter and advancing the cutting device over the cannula, the catheter, and the section of the vessel in order to core out the section of the vessel and a portion of the surrounding tissue.

  • Publication number: 20080249546
Abstract: A surgical connection apparatus including a plurality of delivery assemblies, a housing assembly, and a drive mechanism. The delivery assemblies each include an outer member, an inner member, and optionally a retention member. The inner member is disposed within the outer member, terminates at a distal tip and forms an internal passage that is open at a window. The delivery assemblies releasably retain a self-closing clip. The housing assembly maintains the delivery assemblies in a generally circular arrangement. The drive mechanism operates to transition the delivery assembly in releasing a self-closing clip from the corresponding delivery assembly. With this construction, a plurality of self-closing clips can be simultaneously deployed in a manner effectuating, for example, an end-to-side anastomosis.

  • Patent number: 6613015
Abstract: A right angle safety needle has a base to which an arm is hingedly mounted at a proximal portion. The base has an opening at its distal portion wherethrough the vertical portion of the right angle needle extends. A well is formed adjacent the opening and a dam is provided on the side of the well away from the opening. To retract the needle from the opening, the horizontal portion of the needle, which may be encased in an arm, is rotated about the upright to which it is hingedly connected so that the needle is pivoted upwards and withdrawn from the opening. Once the tip of the needle clears the opening, due to the tip of the needle being offset from the body of the needle and the fact that the needle tends to flex forward, the tip of the needle is entrapped in the well adjacent to the opening. The dam forward of the well provides a backstop for any further forward movement of the tip of the needle, thereby fixedly retaining the needle within the well.
