Patent number: 11936547Abstract: At times, it may be desirable to determine that a client system is, or to determine the number of client systems that are, presenting particular dynamic content when an auditable event occurs in the dynamic content. One manner of making the determination may include accessing presentation time information that indicates the time(s) at which one or more client systems present particular dynamic content and accessing event time information indicating the time(s) at which one or more auditable events occur in the dynamic particular content. Based on the presentation time information and the event time information, it may be possible to determine that a client system is, or to determine the number of client systems that are, presenting particular dynamic content when an auditable event occurs in the dynamic content.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 2021Date of Patent: March 19, 2024Assignee: Yahoo Ad Tech LLCInventors: G. Thomas Des Jardins, Jeffrey Dalton Porter, Vinayak Raghuvamshi, Bryan Slavin, Paul Miller

Patent number: 11132705Abstract: The amount of dynamic content consumed by an audience at one or more locations in one or more content sites may be determined. This information may then be used by an inventory management system to forecast or estimate the future available advertising inventory at the locations. When the entity receives an insertion order, the entity may use the forecasted advertising inventory to help determine the locations to which the campaign should be allocated and when the advertising campaign should be scheduled so that the requirements of the advertising campaign can be met.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 2005Date of Patent: September 28, 2021Assignee: Verizon Media Inc.Inventors: G. Patent number: 10977573Abstract: Systems and methods provide distantly supervised wrapper induction for semi-structured documents, including automatically generating and annotating training documents for the wrapper. Training of the wrapper may occur in two phases using the training documents. An example method includes identifying a training set of semi-structured web pages having a subject entity that exists in a knowledge base and, for each training page, identifying target objects, identifying predicates in the knowledge base that connect the subject entity to a target objects identified in the training page, and annotating the training page. Annotating a training page includes generating a feature set for a mention of the target object, generating predicate-target object pairs for the mention, and labeling each predicate-target object pair with a corresponding example type and weight. The annotated training pages are used to train the wrapper to extract new subject entities and new facts from the set of semi-structured web pages.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 2016Date of Patent: April 13, 2021Assignee: Google LLCInventors: Jeffrey Dalton, Karthik Raman, Evgeniy Gabrilovich, Kevin Patrick Murphy, Wei Zhang

Patent number: 10083472Abstract: Availability of recycled auto parts listed in a centralized inventory system is verified by a query to the inventory system carrying the part. The query identifies the part and data about the part of relevance to a potential buyer (such as price, condition, location) to be verified. Verifications can be performed upon explicit user request, or upon actions implicitly requiring verification, such as adding a part to an estimate or shopping cart, ordering a part, or requesting the part seller to hold the part for future purchase, or the like; verification may also be automatically performed for some or all search results. Results of a verification may also be broadcast to the potential buyer and to the part seller (broker and/or part supplier) to enable audit and follow-up on the verification request.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 2014Date of Patent: September 25, 2018Assignee: Used-Car-Parts.com, Inc.Inventors: Jeffrey L. Publication number: 20180189673Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods that use machine learning to improve whole-structure relevance of hierarchical informational displays. In particular, the present disclosure provides systems and methods that employ a supervised, discriminative machine learning approach to jointly optimize the ranking of items and their display attributes. One example system includes a machine-learned display selection model that has been trained to jointly select a plurality of items and one or more attributes for each item for inclusion in an informational display. For example, the machine-learned display selection model can optimize a nested submodular objective function to jointly select the items and attributes.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 30, 2016Publication date: July 5, 2018Inventors: Jeffrey Dalton, Karthik Raman, Tobias Schnabel, Evgeniy Gabrilovich

Publication number: 20130073353Abstract: Programming media and advertising media may be presented in a manner that approximates or equals a target ratio. In one implementation, a total temporal length of one or more programming media segments is accessed after the user has selected the programming media segments. One or more advertising media segments are then selected. The advertising media segments have a total length that is based on the total temporal length of the programming media segments and a target temporal ratio between programming media and advertising media. The client system may present the one or more selected advertising media segments.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 14, 2012Publication date: March 21, 2013Inventors: G.
