Patent number: 9346706Abstract: Methods of forming a glass article are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of forming a glass article includes translating a pulsed laser beam on a glass substrate sheet to form a laser damage region between a first surface and a second surface of the glass substrate sheet. The method further includes applying an etchant solution to the glass substrate sheet to remove a portion of the glass substrate sheet about the laser damage region. The method may further include strengthening the glass substrate sheet by an ion-exchange strengthening process, and coating the glass substrate sheet with an acid-resistant coating. Also disclosed are methods where the laser damage region has an initial geometry that changes to a desired geometry following the reforming of the glass substrate sheet such that the initial geometry of the laser damage region compensates for the bending of the glass substrate sheet.Type: GrantFiled: November 27, 2013Date of Patent: May 24, 2016Assignee: CORNING INCORPORATEDInventors: Brandon A. Bazemore, Jeffrey A. Decker, Jiangwei Feng, Diane Kimberlie Guilfoyle, Daniel Ralph Harvey, Yuhui Jin, Laurent Joubaud, Xavier Lafosse, Alexander Mikhailovich Streltsov, Ljerka Ukrainczyk

Patent number: 7996481Abstract: Methods and systems provide for automatic outbound information notification to a subscriber based on a subscriber's communications customer profile. A subscriber may select one or more events for which the subscriber desires notification from an outbound notification events options list. When an event is triggered for which the subscriber has requested notification, for example a traffic information report at a selected notification time, a voice services node queries a customer profile database to determine what information must be obtained and transmitted to the subscriber based on the subscriber's selected notification options and frequencies. The voice services node calls the subscriber at the subscriber's telephone directory number and plays the prescribed event information to the subscriber.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 2003Date of Patent: August 9, 2011Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Scott T. Stillman, John Jeffrey Decker

Patent number: 7864931Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for utilizing calling party personal calendaring and scheduling information to facilitate enhanced directory assistance information. After obtaining a directory number for a called party from a subscriber's address book or from a directory assistance service, a voice services node queries a personal scheduling calendar of the called party to determine whether the called party is currently located at a location other than the location accessible by the obtained directory number. If so, the voice services node may obtain an alternate directory number for the current location of the called party, and the voice services node may automatically place a call to the called party via the alternate directory number or provide the alternate directory number to the subscriber.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 2006Date of Patent: January 4, 2011Inventors: Scott T. Stillman, John Jeffrey Decker

Publication number: 20100025153Abstract: An accessory holding device for a ladder assembly includes a body member and at least one mounting member. The body member includes a primary compartment and a plurality of secondary compartments integrally configured with the primary compartment such that the primary compartment is disposed between a first compartment and a second compartment of the plurality of secondary compartments. The primary compartment and the plurality of secondary compartments of the body member are capable of receiving accessories therein. Further, the at least one mounting member adjustably coupled to one of the primary compartments and the plurality of secondary compartments of the body member. The at least one mounting member is capable of removably mounting the body member to the ladder assembly for holding the accessories.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 14, 2009Publication date: February 4, 2010Inventor: Jeffrey Decker

Patent number: 7462019Abstract: A pump for pumping sensitive fluids, such as blood, having no mechanical contact between the impeller and any other structure. The pump comprises a pump housing, an impeller disposed within the pump housing, a magnetic bearing system for supporting and stabilizing the impeller in five degrees of freedom, and a conformally shaped magnetically linked motor for rotating the impeller. The magnetic bearing system and motor advantageously comprise electromagnets and permanent magnets for stability and control of the impeller, and to reduce size, weight, and pump power consumption. Permanent and electromagnets are disposed on the pump housing and permanent magnets are disposed on the impeller such that by controlling electric current through the electromagnets on the housing, the magnetically suspended impeller functions as the rotor, and the housing as the stator of a D.C. motor.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 1999Date of Patent: December 9, 2008Inventors: Paul E.
