  • Patent number: 7744100
Abstract: A method of propelling a wheeled platform, which includes creating a source of energy upon a first change in orientation of the platform relative to an axle housing of the wheeled platform by rotating the platform around an axis approximately parallel to a longitudinal axis of the platform. The source of energy is stored and released to propel the wheeled platform.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 11, 2009
Date of Patent: June 29, 2010
    Inventor: Jeffrey E. Cole
  • Publication number: 20100090424
Abstract: An assembly for a wheeled platform includes a platform element adapted to be attachable to a platform and a housing adapted to receive the platform element, wherein a change in a contact point of the platform element relative to the housing results in a turning response of the wheeled platform.
    Type: Application

  • Patent number: 7635136
Abstract: A method of propelling a wheeled platform, which includes creating a source of energy upon a first change in orientation of the platform around an axis approximately parallel to a longitudinal axis of the platform and wherein the platform rotates around the axis. The source of energy is stored and released to propel the wheeled platform upon a second change in orientation of the platform around the axis.

  • Publication number: 20090206572
Abstract: A steering enhancement and braking system for a skateboard or wheeled platform having an actuating element configured to change the position of the skateboard deck relative to the skateboard truck. The actuating element comprises a deck plate configured to be attachable to a skateboard deck, and a truck plate configured to be attachable to a skateboard truck and the deck plate. Upon an application of a force to the skateboard deck the position of the truck plate relative to the deck plate changes. In addition, the system can achieve braking action by transferring the differential motion to the skateboard deck and the truck by the use of the actuating element.

  • Patent number: 7374179
Abstract: A truck assembly for a skateboard having an inner ring adapted to be attachable to a skateboard deck, and an outer ring adapted to be attachable to an axle extending from the outer ring, wherein the axle is configured to receive at least one wheel. The inner ring and the outer ring rotate relative to one another upon a change in an orientation of the skateboard deck.

  • Patent number: 7216876
Abstract: A device for generating rotational energy for hydraulic fluids, which includes at least one hydraulic cylinder, the at least one hydraulic cylinder comprising at least two chambers, wherein each of the at least two chambers are in fluid communication with the other. The hydraulic fluid is displaced from the hydraulic cylinder to an accumulator and a valve, which controls the release of the hydraulic fluid to a hydraulic motor. The hydraulic motor receives the hydraulic fluid from the accumulator and valve creating torque to drive a wheel or other device.
