Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for performing a food tracking service for tracking consumption of one or more food items. The method comprises receiving an authentication request from a user device wherein the request includes user credentials provided by a user through a graphical user interface on the user device that receives input from the user. The authentication request is processed to determine if the user is a registered user authorized to access the food tracking service. A food input means obtain an indicator of one or more food items to be consumed and the indicator is processed to extract a string of food parameters. The food parameters are processed to identify the one or more food items associated with the food parameters and its corresponding nutritional information. The one or more identified food items and corresponding nutritional information are then transmitted to the user device.
