Abstract: A lighting system comprising a light source and a handsfree control system in communication with the light source, wherein the handsfree control system is configured for one or more of voice control, motion control, control via biometric feedback, and position-based control of the light source. The lighting system further comprising an accelerometer, a microphone, and/or a surgical navigation system for creating inputs for the system to command control of the light source. The lighting system where the light source is a wearable light for use in an operating theater.

Abstract: The present application discloses a surgical lamp. The surgical lamp includes a light source, a housing, and a heat sink into which heat from the light source is transferred. The housing includes a thermal insulating shell substantially surrounding the heat sink, and a plurality of ports that enable to airflow to dissipate the heat transferred to the heat sink.
