Patent number: 11420793Abstract: A paint bucket insert. The paint bucket insert includes a base dimensioned to removably secure within a bucket, wherein an annular sidewall extends orthogonally away from the base along a perimeter thereof. The base is further concave defining an apex. A well is disposed within the base at the apex, wherein the well extends from a lower side of the base. The well can receive a paint sprayer hose or alternatively a paint roller therein.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2019Date of Patent: August 23, 2022Inventor: Jeffrey Fischer

Patent number: 11216512Abstract: A method may include directing display of a dataset menu listing datasets representative of graphs. The method may include identifying features in the datasets as corresponding to nodes and edges. The method may include selecting local or global mapping to map categorical feature values to numeric values. Local mapping may be selected in response to a distribution of feature values not corresponding across different graphs. Global mapping may be selected in response to a distribution of the feature values corresponding across different graphs. The method may include directing display of configuration settings that indicate the selection between local and global mapping for training a classification model. The method may include obtaining selected configuration settings. The method may include providing the selected configuration settings and datasets to a machine learning backend, which may utilize the machine learning algorithm, datasets, and selected configuration settings to train the classification model.Type: GrantFiled: April 10, 2019Date of Patent: January 4, 2022Assignee: FUJITSU LIMITEDInventors: Vivek Lakshmanan, Jeffrey Fischer, Suhas Chelian, Ajay Chander

Patent number: 10719674Abstract: A scalable tag detection, location, tracking, recovery, and data collection system uses a social network of mobile devices, such as smartphones, as readers, to find lost or stolen goods that are tagged, or to read data or sensor values from tags at remote locations. A network service apparatus compiles IDs of tags of interest into a data structure representing a subset of all tagged items, and transmits the data structure information to the participating mobile devices. Each mobile device application can receive tag transmissions when in proximity to any tag. The mobile device processes received tags with the filter to determine if they are part of the composition of the data structure and thus a tag of interest. If so, the mobile device location, time, and tag ID, are relayed to the network service for additional analysis. The short range tag emits a low power, low duty factor signal.Type: GrantFiled: October 13, 2016Date of Patent: July 21, 2020Inventor: Jeffrey Fischer

Publication number: 20160285611Abstract: A radar detector is used with a radio link, the radio link characterized by high duty factor operation of a radio transmitter. The radar detector is located a sufficient distance from the radio transmitter that the radar detector is not overwhelmed by the radio transmission signal in that channel and can detect sufficiently low level radar signals to ascertain potential radio interference at the radar from said radio transmitter. The results of the radar detection are communicated to the transmitter in a way that impacts the transmitter's use of the sensed channel. This communication can occur reactively when a radar detection is achieved (the absence of which indicates no radar has been detected) and/or can be a periodic or event-driven indication that the channel is available for operation (the information expiring if the result is not refreshed).Type: ApplicationFiled: February 22, 2016Publication date: September 29, 2016Inventors: Jeffrey Fischer, Kevin J. Negus

Patent number: 7930685Abstract: A method and system for exposing a version-independent interface to a computer resource. The interface system exposes a version-independent interface to a computer resource, such as a database or computer program. The interface system also provides a version-dependent interface to the computer resource that is typically not exposed. When the computer resource is modified, the version-dependent interface may be modified, but the version-independent interface might not be modified. When the version-dependent interface is modified, a mapping is generated (in some cases automatically) between the version-independent interface and the version-dependent interface. When an accessing computer program uses the version-independent interface to request services of the computer resource, the system uses the mapping to map the request to a request that is appropriate for the version-dependent interface.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2006Date of Patent: April 19, 2011Assignee: Siebel Systems, Inc.Inventors: Jeffrey Fischer, Heung-Wah Yan

Patent number: 7840671Abstract: Provided herein is a name service that includes published data that is associated with one or more duration entities and one or more modification entities, enabling the name service to more efficiently manage access to published data. To publish data, a publishing client transmits a publication request to a name service. The publication request may specify a modification entity. The name service creates at least one name entry that associates the published data with the modification entity. There are several types of requests to modify data that a name service will honor only when they originate from a modification entity.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2003Date of Patent: November 23, 2010Assignee: Oracle International CorporationInventors: Jeffrey Fischer, John Hsu, Alok Kumar Srivastava

Patent number: 7767464Abstract: A composition and method of detecting counterfeit paper currency includes applying a test solution to a paper currency having ink printed thereon. If the paper currency is counterfeit, the test solution causes the ink to release from the paper currency. If the paper currency is genuine, the ink will not release from the paper currency. The test solution may be an aqueous-alcohol solution having a chemical thickener, and preferably includes a de-foaming agent, a bactericide/fungicide and a fragrance.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 2005Date of Patent: August 3, 2010Assignee: Clarence J. Venne, LLCInventors: Ronald J. Kentley, Mark Kentley, Jeffrey Fischer

Patent number: 7698360Abstract: A system and method for distance learning that can be used to teach a typical IT training course. In one aspect, a student that desires to perform remotely an exercise from an IT training course uses his/her Java-capable browser to connect to a distance learning web server. The web server downloads to the browser a list of exercises that the student can choose from. After the student selects an exercise, the web server launches the virtual machines that are needed for the student to perform the selected exercise. The virtual machines are launched on a computer system that is remote from the student, but the computer system includes a remote display server. After the virtual machines are launched on the remote system, a remote display viewer is loaded in the student's browser and the remote display viewer connects to the remote display server. After the viewer connects to the remote display server, the viewer displays one or more of the virtual machines in a window on the student's computer.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2002Date of Patent: April 13, 2010Assignee: Novell, Inc.Inventors: David D. Patent number: 7331791Abstract: An IT skills evaluation system and method for evaluating an individual's IT skills. According to one aspect of the invention, the individual is required to perform one or more practical exercises. A practical exercise is an evaluation device for evaluating not only an individual's knowledge, but also the individual's ability to apply their knowledge. One or more virtual machines are associated with each practical exercise, and the test taker must use these virtual machines to complete the exercise. In one aspect, a skills evaluation system according to one embodiment includes a testing computer on which the following software is installed: a virtual machine platform for allowing multiple virtual machines to run simultaneously on the testing computer and a practical skills evaluator for presenting exams to a test taker and scoring the exam. An exam is made up of one or more practical exercise.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2002Date of Patent: February 19, 2008Assignee: Novell, Inc.Inventors: David D. Rowley, Thomas K.
