Publication number: 20240293942Abstract: A surgical system uses a single entry port in a wide variety of surgeries. To insert multiple surgical instruments into a patient through a single entry port requires that the shaft of at least one of the surgical instruments be bent between the base of the surgical instrument and the point where the shaft contacts a channel in an entry guide. Each surgical instrument is positioned by an instrument manipulator positioning system so that when the shaft is inserted in a channel of the entry guide, any bending of the shaft does not damage the surgical instrument and does not inhibit proper operation of the surgical instrument.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 29, 2024Publication date: September 5, 2024Applicant: Intuitive Surgical Operations, Inc.Inventors: Anthony K. Patent number: 9344482Abstract: Systems and methods for remote file access are disclosed. According to an embodiment, a local agent polls a server for a task request at a polling interval scheduled by a schedule timer in accordance with a set of local agent and remote client preferences. The local agent is responsible for executing a task from the task request and causing a file to be uploaded to the server. The local agent uses a task processor for polling a server, a schedule timer for controlling polling, and one or more protocol stacks, such as TCP/IP and SOAP, for communicating with the server. Patent number: 7037028Abstract: A security barrier includes a horizontal composite beam extending across a roadway is mounted between vertical posts at either end of the beam. Hydraulic cylinders fastened at each beam end and to the vertical posts cause the beam to be raised and lowered, as needed. When the beam is at its lowest position, it allows for the normal flow of traffic over the top of the beam. When the beam is in its fully-raised position, it provides a vehicle barrier thirty-six inches above grade. A hydraulic power unit and components control the direction and speed of beam movement. The security barrier also includes electronic control and monitoring of the beam, and hydraulic system.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2004Date of Patent: May 2, 2006Assignee: Intertex Barriers & Booths, Inc.Inventors: Dale R. Publication number: 20030093467Abstract: Systems and methods for remote file access are disclosed. According to an embodiment, a server receives a task request from a remote client identifying a file in a local computer and adds the task request to a task queue. The server receives a poll from a local agent and responds to the poll by sending the task request to the local agent. The server receives the file and sets notification information that the request is complete. The server can include a task queue for storing the task requests and a communication stack, such as TCP/IP, for communicating with the local agent. The server can also be configured to interface with a speech module for converting text to speech and speech to text for engaging a remote client. As well, the server can include a database management system.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 17, 2002Publication date: May 15, 2003Applicant: Flying Wireless, Inc.Inventor: Jeffrey G. Anderson

Publication number: 20030084045Abstract: Systems and protocols for remote file access are disclosed. According to an embodiment, a system includes a local agent, a server, and a remote client. A remote client desires access to a file and sends a task request to the server. The server stores the request in a task queue. Periodically, the local agent, with access to the file, polls the server and checks the task queue. When a task request is in the task queue, the local agent receives the task request, performs it, and returns the file to the server. The server then sets up a notification that the task is complete, and the remote client is transferred the file. The system may include a speech module for converting speech to text and text to speech. A system architecture and a remote file access protocol are further disclosed that help achieve this remote file access framework.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 17, 2002Publication date: May 1, 2003Applicant: Flying Wireless, Inc.Inventors: Jeffrey G. Patent number: 5473990Abstract: This disclosure provides to a ride vehicle for used in an amusement attraction. The ride vehicle mounts a structure upon a hydraulically-actuated motion base, so that the passenger holding structure may be articulated about one or more axes as the vehicle moves. Thus, this "simulator ride" carries passengers through three-dimensional scenery and articulates the passenger holding structure in synchronism with motions of the ride vehicle, the motions of moving show sets, which are external to the vehicle, sound, projection and other effects. The ride vehicle is programmably-controlled, and derives electrical power from a track mounted power bus to drive vehicle hydraulics, which drive motion base actuation, steering and vehicle velocity.Type: GrantFiled: August 19, 1993Date of Patent: December 12, 1995Assignee: The Walt Disney CompanyInventors: Jeffrey G.
