Patent number: 6840839Abstract: A universal chassis which may be assembled with modular componentry allowing for a play pattern with the user in which modification of the overall construction of the vehicle is encouraged. The modularity is purposely built in to allow users to modify their Battlebot chassis. In operating the configured vehicle, two motors, i.e., left and right, are provided with pulsed controlled operation to facilitate two-speed performance. The ability to transmit/receive IR signals modulated on one or more of multiple carriers facilitates the play pattern with simultaneous operation of multiple vehicles. An impact sensor or the like provides for detecting impacts, and processor control may be used for counting impacts in order to modify the functionality accorded to the user with the universal chassis.Type: GrantFiled: January 25, 2002Date of Patent: January 11, 2005Assignee: Hasbro, Inc.Inventors: Jeffrey G. Rehkemper, Peter A. Greenley, Ryan H. Kratz, Nicholas J. Grisolia, Michael M. Kass, Edward Daniel Polanek, Benjamin R. Durbin

Patent number: 6612893Abstract: A toy airplane assembly is provided that is easy to fly, inexpensive, and durable. The toy plane assembly includes a plane having a radio receiver and a microprocessor. Batteries housed in the fuselage power the printed circuit board to which the microprocessor and radio receiver are attached. The radio receiver receives signals from a hand-held remote control radio transmitter and are transmitted to the microprocessor. The microprocessor decodes the signals and, in response thereto, distributes power to the motors for driving the propellers. All movement of the plane is controlled by the microprocessor, thereby providing microprocessor assisted flight. The plane fuselage is a one-piece molded part, made of a foam material to provide a durable plane.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 2001Date of Patent: September 2, 2003Assignee: Spin Master Ltd.Inventors: Jeffrey G. Rehkemper, Nicholas Grisolia, Keith Johnson, Bret Gould, Alexey Florov

Patent number: 6079954Abstract: An air pumping station for a pneumatic toy vehicle powered by a re-fillable compressed air bottle or canister includes a stabilizing base having a flat ground engaging horizontal lateral bottom including a horizontal projecting geometry proportioned for placement under the feet of the user. The station also includes a fluid-tight vertical cylindrical housing. The station includes a reciprocating piston having a first end in fluid tight relation to interior walls of the housing and a second end defining hand-grippable pumping handles. The station has an air intake valve for the cylindrical housing. The pumping station includes an element for selectable clamping and unclamping of the toy vehicle to at least a first surface of the cylinder, however offset therefrom by a sufficient distance to avoid the reciprocal movement of the piston and grippable pumping handles. The cylinder includes an air exhaust aperture in fluid communication with the base of the cylinder.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 1999Date of Patent: June 27, 2000Assignee: SpinMaster Toys Ltd.Inventors: Charles D. Kownacki, Jeffrey G. Rehkemper, Ronnen Harary

Patent number: 6006517Abstract: A fluid engine for use in pneumatically operated toys such as wheeled vehicles or airplanes includes an engine having a fluid input cavity which is in continuous fluid communication with a source of compressed air, a fluid delivery cavity which is in continuous communication with a piston cavity bounded by a moveable piston mounted in a cylinder member and which is separated from the fluid input cavity by a wall having a valve opening, and exhaust apertures which are separated from the fluid delivery cavity. A valve rod is movably housed to open the valve opening and close the exhaust apertures during the piston's power stroke, and to close the valve opening and open the exhaust opening during the piston's exhaust stroke. The valve rod is operatively connected to a piston to act in synchronism with it by the use of a cam integrally secured to a propeller power shaft.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 1998Date of Patent: December 28, 1999Assignee: Spin Master Toys, Ltd.Inventors: Charles D. Patent number: 5934969Abstract: A model kit for creating replicas of animals comprises a mold into which a casting material is placed to generate the chosen animal-like form. Components simulating internal organs of the creature are assembled and placed within the mold prior to casting, whereby they are embedded in the casting material. One or more of the components may simulate selected soft tissue organs or groups of organs, and may be of a bladder-like construction, allowing it to be filled with a liquid. The casting material sets to a thick gel-like consistency, allowing the material to be excised from about the internal organ components, whereby the user can "dissect" the creature.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 1997Date of Patent: August 10, 1999Assignee: Rehkemper ID, Inc.Inventors: Steven F. Rehkemper, Jeffrey G. Rehkemper

Patent number: 5899789Abstract: A track system including a continuous track comprising a spiral track section interconnecting upper and lower track sections. The spiral track section exits into a powered roller assembly that receives a toy car from the spiral track and impels it along the track. The car leaving the rollers moves over an opening in a horizontal section and then through an inverted vertically disposed loop leading back to the opening to a lower track section and back to the spiral track section. The construction of the track creates a mid-air collision course that will occur if the car is moving over the opening when a car is exiting from the vertically disposed loop.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 1997Date of Patent: May 4, 1999Inventors: Jeffrey G. Rehkemper, Steven Rehkemper
