  • Publication number: 20230090821
Abstract: Carbon nanostructures are used to prepare curable silicone-based compositions that can be used to manufacture various molded parts for EMI shielding applications. In one illustration, a cured material includes carbon nanostructures, fragments of carbon nanostructures, fractured carbon nanotubes, elongated carbon strands, and/or dispersed carbon nanostructures dispersed in a silicone component.

  • Publication number: 20180368664
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to variable stiffness materials and devices, and methods of use thereof. In one embodiment, a variable stiffness robotic material is disclosed, which in one example, is useful for forming a robotic material based sleeve for endoscopes. In another embodiment, a single tool variable stiffness endoscope and working channel is disclosed, which is useful for performing multi-site thermoblation in a physician's office. In yet another embodiment, a micro-wave based tissue ablation or volume reduction tool and procedure are provided for treating sleep apnea.

  • Patent number: 6035950
Abstract: A sampling device includes a barrel having a downhole end, an exterior surface, an interior surface defining a hollow interior, and an open end at the downhole end of the hollow interior. A fluid entrance penetrates the exterior surface. A fluid path having an outlet port is fluidly coupled to the fluid entrance. The device is driven into a subsurface so that a soil sample is forced into the hollow interior. While the device is still in the subsurface a fluid sample is collected through the least one fluid entrance and fluid path.
    Type: Grant

    Assignee: SimulProbe Technologies, Inc.
Inventors: Noah Heller, Jeffrey Barrow, Jeffrey Gamble
  • Patent number: 6000481
Abstract: A sampling device capable of collecting fluid and soil samples includes a sensor for measuring a fluid parameter. The sensor is coupled to a monitor which records the fluid parameter measurements. A regenerative gas is passed through the sensor to regenerate the sensor so that a number of measurements may be taken. A movable drive tip covers an opening through which the fluid sample is collected.

  • Patent number: 5399295
Abstract: A composite sheet is disclosed comprising a continuous matrix of a synthetic resinous material having randomly dispersed therein conductive fibers and a particulate, conductive or semi-conductive filler. In addition to providing excellent EMI shielding properties, the composite sheets are formable and are of sufficient strength to act as structural components.

  • Patent number: 4973514
Abstract: A resinous composite material is disclosed containing randomly dispersed fibers and from about 0.05 to 30 percent of a particulate conductive or semi-conductive filler. In addition to providing excellent EMI shielding properties, these composites are formable and are of sufficient strength to act as structural components.
