  • Patent number: 9600950
Abstract: A vehicle system includes a vehicle communication module in the vehicle, a remote start system in the vehicle, and a vehicle processor. The vehicle processor is configured to determine if the vehicle is in a garage, and further configured to receive an indication of a remote start request from the remote start system, receive a garage door status from a garage door opener using the vehicle communication module, and determine, based on the received garage door status, if a garage door is closed. In response to determining that the garage door is closed, the vehicle systems transmits a remote command to the garage door opener formatted to cause the garage door opener to open the garage door.

  • Patent number: 9081445
Abstract: A touchless method for registering commands from a display (e.g. reconfigurable display) may include any of various components. The method may use a light sensor in front of or behind the display to detect light reflected by a user's finger approaching a control option displayed on the display. Light used to display images may be provided at a frequency and/or time that can be identified by a processor connected to the light sensor, or can possess some other unique property (e.g. color) which may be distinguished by the processor.

  • Patent number: 6581211
Abstract: A mitten that includes a body that has a form and a texture of that of an animal (e.g. bear) paw. The body covers a hand and has a combined thumb/finger-covering portion and a slot. The body is configured so as to allow the thumb and the fingers of the hand to exit from the combined thumb/finger-covering portion thereof and still remain completely in the body while the body is still donned normally on the hand. The slot in the body allows the thumb and the fingers of the hand to exit therefrom while the body is still donned on the hand, once the thumb and the fingers of the hand have exited from the combined thumb/finger-covering portion of the body, so as to expose the thumb and the fingers of the hand and allow unrestricted use of the thumb and the fingers of the hand while the body is still donned on the hand without having to undonne the body from the hand.
