Abstract: An adjustable surround for use with a fireplace. The surround includes first and second top members arranged end to end in a generally horizontal orientation to define a width of the surround. The first and second top members are movable relative to each other to alter the width of the surround. The surround also includes first and second side members that extend generally vertically on opposing sides of a combustion chamber enclosure of the fireplace, and first and second overlap members configured to be coupled to respective first and second side members. Relative movement between the first and second side members and respective first and second overlap member adjusts a height of the surround.

Abstract: A hanger assembly adapted and/or configured for use in hanging, supporting, and/or securing building components, such as ducts, pipes, and the like, between structural members, such as joists, studs, rafters, or the like, and methods of making and/or using the hanger assembly. In some embodiments, the hanger assembly includes one or more threaded fastening members that are each pre-disposed and/or captured within the structure of the hanger assembly prior to use. One or more captivating mechanisms and/or structures can be provided to selectively couple one or more of the fastening members within an opening in the assembly such that the fastening member is held in place within the opening prior to use.

Abstract: A trimmable surround and methods for creating the surround for a heat generating device. The trimmable surround includes a molded portion having a ceramic fiber and a binder and an attachment portion. A portion of the molded member is removable to alter a size of the molded member. An attachment portion coupled to the molded portion allows attachment of the trimmable surround to the heat generating device.

An opening formed in the top member facilitates movement of heated air collected in the cavity to pass through the cavity. The surround may also include a shield member that direct the heated air from the fireplace vent to the exhaust opening in the top member, and an insulating member that dissipates heat in the top member.
