  • Patent number: 11269544
Abstract: A storage array uses paged metadata. Each storage director has access to a plurality of object storage systems which describe locations of paged metadata in backing storage. Each object storage system includes different types of inodes which describe objects in backing storage. The object storage systems are used to locate and relocate metadata for loading into global memory, and creation and deletion of objects. An object storage system may be selected based on factors including ratio of different inode types, locality of object usage and anticipated object activity level.

  • Publication number: 20220054739
Abstract: A fluid delivery device has a syringe barrel-type reservoir with plunger, and plunger driver assembly comprising double-acting, telescoping lead screws that is located behind and outside of the barrel. Simultaneously and counter-rotating sleeve screw and center screw telescope out of a nested configuration of the plunger driver assembly and into the reservoir at a rate of double their individual and equal pitch and lead parameters when the sleeve screw is rotated. A threaded nut and gear anchor disposed on an end of the barrel receive the sleeve screw and the threaded nut causes the sleeve screw to translate and rotate in response to motor operation. A distal end of the center screw can be keyed to a plunger pusher for anti-rotation constraint when the motor is imparting rotation on the threaded nut and sleeve screw.

  • Publication number: 20100108588
Abstract: A method of converting biological material into energy resources includes transmitting biological material to a pulsed electric field (PEF) station, and applying a PEF to the biological material within a treatment zone in the PEF station to generate treated biological material. The method also includes transmitting the treated biological material to a biogenerator, and processing the treated biological material in the biogenerator to produce an energy resource. A converter may carry out this process, and may include the PEF station and the biogenerator.

  • Publication number: 20070123770
Abstract: A sensor device for detecting a change in the level of fluid within tissue of a body includes: a housing having a plurality of bridge segments, the bridge segments connecting at intersections and being arranged to circumscribe an opening defined by the housing; and a plurality of antenna elements at least partially seated within the housing at intersections of the bridge segments. Each of the plurality of antenna elements includes a generally planar antenna mounted to a substrate material at a base of the planar antenna. An outer surface of the planar antenna faces away from the substrate. Each of the plurality of antenna elements further includes an electrical shield surrounding the substrate. A sensor for detecting a change in the level of fluid within tissue of a body including a first antenna pair includes a first transmitting antenna and a first receiving antenna. The first transmitting antenna is spaced from and connected to the first receiving antenna by a first bridging segment.

  • Publication number: 20060202048
Abstract: A method and device are provided for providing sensory cues, signals, or indicators regarding the status of electrohydrodynamically spraying a material, including power-on status of an electrohydrodynamic spray device, active electrohydrodynamic spray status, and material status within the electrohydrodynamic spray device. In particular, audible, tactile, or intermittent visible signals indicate active electrohydrodynamic spraying, audible, tactile, or visible signals indicate power-on status of the electrohydrodynamic spray device, and sensory signals indicate the status of other operationally-related variables, including the rate of electrohydrodynamic spray, time increments, which may be correlated with electrohydrodynamic spray flowrates, and material supply levels.

  • Patent number: 7001520
Abstract: A method of treating of municipal sludge, paper-pulp sludge, animal and plant waste, and the like, whereby the treatment thereof via electroporation causes the breakdown of waste activated sludge, which is then recycled back to a bioreactor, or to one or more additional bioreactors such as aerobic, facultative, anoxic, or strictly anaerobic.

  • Publication number: 20050215340
Abstract: An instrumented golf club system and methods are disclosed. A variety of golf swing parameters are measured by the instrumented golf club and wirelessly transmitted to a portable computer device. The portable computer device generates a user interface that displays the golf swing parameters against preferred golf swing parameters. The instrumented golf club system allows a golfer to receive feedback in real time while playing golf.
