  • Patent number: 9225339
Abstract: An electronic device may include a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) and a temperature sensor. The electronic device may also include a controller configured to cooperate with the VCO and the temperature sensor to determine both a temperature and a frequency error of the VCO for each of a plurality of most recent samples. Each of the most recent samples may have a given age associated therewith. The controller may also be configured to align the temperature, the frequency error, and the given age for each of most recent samples in a three-dimensional (3D) coordinate system having respective temperature, frequency error and age axes. The controller may also be configured to estimate a predicted frequency error of the VCO based upon the aligned temperature, frequency error, and given age of the most recent samples.

  • Publication number: 20060148420
Abstract: A Bluetooth-wireless docking station for use with a Bluetooth-enabled cellular mobile handset, which docking station allows mobility to the cellular mobile handset rather than having to be fixed stationarily in the docking station, which docking station couples standard POTS telephone sets, or POTS-like telephone units, connected to in-premises wiring, to the cellular, or cellular like, network. The cellular mobile handset may be used to make or receive calls remote from the docking station, while the docking station communicates with the Bluetooth-enabled cellular mobile handset via a Bluetooth-wireless transceiver using Bluetooth-wireless air-interface protocol.

  • Publication number: 20060118672
Abstract: A non-rotatable fan tool includes a head portion and a shank portion. The head portion has a support member and a wear member integral with the support member. The support member further has a rear surface from which there protrudes a protrusion. The wear member extends over the protrusion. The shank portion has an axial forward end. The shank portion is attached at the axial forward end thereof to the rear surface of the head portion.

  • Publication number: 20060093096
Abstract: When an alarm panel needs to transmit alarm data, it seizes the PSTN and disconnects the premises-wiring. If in a call, the user is cut off immediately and it appears to the user that the connection to the PSTN has been lost. If trying to place a call, the user also perceives that the connection to the PSTN is lost. The present invention provides tonal signals to the user to indicate that the PSTN line is in use by the alarm panel and also notifies the user when the PSTN connection is available for use.

  • Publication number: 20050017111
Abstract: A tool for impinging material wherein the tool is connected to a rotating drum. The tool comprises an elongate tool body that has opposite ends. The elongate tool body is connected at one end thereof to the rotating drum. The elongate tool body has a distal end opposite to the one end. The tool further has a wear pad that includes a central pad body that has an impingement face and an opposite attachment face. A pair flanges extend away from the attachment face. Each one of the flanges has an interior flange surface. The wear pad is attached to the elongate tool body at the distal end thereof. At least a portion of the flange interior surfaces and at least a portion of the attachment face is in close contact with the elongate tool body. The wear pad has a wear-resistant volume beginning near and extending inwardly from the impingement face thereof. The wear-resistant volume contains hard particles.

  • Patent number: 5679515
Abstract: This invention relates to a method of quantifying bacteria in vivo or in vitro using bacterial reporter strains. In particular this invention provides a method utilizing mycobacterial reporter strains that permits rapid screening for in vivo antimycobacterial activity of various compositions. In addition this invention provides for particular mycobacterial reporter strains expressing the FFlux gene at levels sufficiently high to allow detection in tissue homogenates without lysis or concentration of the bacteria.
