Patent number: 10544572Abstract: An overflow assembly including an overflow cap and a locking ring is described that allows liquid (e.g., water) being received or collected in a plumbing fixture (e.g., a bathtub) to flow into an overflow pipe in an effective, aesthetically pleasing manner using components that are easier to install than some conventional solutions. The locking ring has a threaded inner surface that is designed to be threaded onto an externally threaded end of the overflow pipe that is extended through a wall of the plumbing fixture to secure the overflow pipe with respect to the wall. The overflow cap may then be pressed onto the externally threaded end of the overflow pipe, such that it engages the externally threaded end via engagement tabs. The overflow cap can be removed from the end of the overflow pipe by rotating the cap to unthread it from the threaded end of the overflow pipe.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 2016Date of Patent: January 28, 2020Assignee: IPS CorporationInventors: Jeffrey A. Humber, James H. Whitehead

Patent number: 9650765Abstract: Plumbing outlet boxes, such as for connecting washing machines, ice makers, and other plumbed appliances to plumbing systems, are provided that can be attached to each other without the use of separate connectors or mounting brackets. In particular, plumbing outlet boxes are described that include receiving features and mounting tabs extending outwardly from the side walls. The receiving features and mounting tabs are arranged such that the plumbing outlet box has rotational symmetry. In this way, receiving features may be engaged with mounting tabs of an adjacent plumbing outlet box regardless of the relative orientation of the mating plumbing outlet boxes.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 2016Date of Patent: May 16, 2017Assignee: IPS CorporationInventors: James H. Whitehead, Jeffrey A. Humber

Publication number: 20130020796Abstract: An integral one-piece roof flashing for preventing moisture from passing between a vent pipe and a roof. The flashing, preferably of plastic, includes a base having an aperture and a laterally-extending planar flange with a raised center portion. An upstanding outer sleeve is joined to the center portion by a flexible corrugated portion of the flashing. A downwardly-depending inner sleeve has a top end joined to the distal end of the outer sleeve, extends into the outer sleeve, and is adapted for receipt into the top end of the vent pipe. The corrugated portion flexes to allow the outer sleeve to be angled up and down the pitch direction of the roof, side to side, and to extend to accommodate different roof pitch angles and vent pipe heights. A scale on the base allows the vent pipe height to be measured to ensure that it is within acceptable limits.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 21, 2011Publication date: January 24, 2013Applicant: IPS CORPORATIONInventor: Jeffrey A. Patent number: 7441729Abstract: A hanger assembly for suspending a pipe from a support comprises a J-hook engageable with the pipe. The hook has a vertically extending shank. A shank extension has a leg projecting vertically from a sleeve. The shank of the J-hook is configured and dimensioned for axial insertion to a selected extent into the sleeve. First fasteners serve to secure the thus inserted shank within the sleeve, and second fasteners serve to attach the leg to the support.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 2005Date of Patent: October 28, 2008Assignee: IPS CorporationInventors: Jeffrey A. Humber, Steven R. Cole

Patent number: 7077156Abstract: In one aspect of the present invention, an ice maker valve box has a housing having a cylindrical side wall leading from a front edge bordering a circular front opening to rounded circular shoulder joined to a flat back wall. The front edge and back wall are arranged in parallel front and rear planes. A pair of first mounting tabs projects laterally and horizontally from the side wall in a first intermediate plane located between and parallel to the front and rear planes. The first mounting tabs have apertures therein for receiving first fasteners. Ledges extend rearwardly from the first mounting tabs to the rear plane. A pair of second mounting tabs joins the first mounting tabs and projects laterally and vertically from said side wall in other intermediate planes parallel to said front, first intermediate, and rear planes. The second mounting tabs define passages for receiving second fasteners.Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 2005Date of Patent: July 18, 2006Assignee: IPS CorporationInventors: Jeffrey A. Humber, Steven R.
