    Abstract: A powered surface maintenance machine having an exhaust air system for dust control is equipped with air filters for removing dust from the air before exhausting it to atmosphere. Automatic means are provided to mechanically shake dust from the filters whenever enough has accumulated on them to adversely affect dust control. This filter cleaning is accomplished with no attention from the machine operator and does not interrupt the operation of the machine or the air flow needed for dust control.
