  • Patent number: 9089992
Abstract: Methods of manufacturing a honeycomb structure comprise the step of providing a honeycomb body having a multiplicity of cells extending therethrough between opposing end faces. The cells are defined by intersecting porous walls. The methods further include the steps of applying an after-applied skin layer on the honeycomb body and chamfering an edge of the after-applied skin. The chamfering step is performed on a wet after-applied skin layer.

  • Patent number: 8556637
Abstract: A method of forming a writable erasable area on an object includes selecting a glass sheet having a front surface and a back surface, where the front surface is opposed to and parallel to the back surface. An area of the object where the writable erasable area is to be located is selected. The selected area has a select non-flat shape. The shape of the glass sheet is conformed to the select non-flat shape. The glass sheet is then mounted on the object such that the glass sheet is located at the selected area of the object and conforms in shape to the selected area of the object.
