    Abstract: The present application is directed to a fishing device comprising a body, a reel, an article of fishing tackle, fishing line attached to the reel and to the article of fishing tackle, and a spring-powered launch mechanism. The launch mechanism comprises a slidable member, in slidable relation with the body and adapted to releasably receive the article of fishing tackle, and at least one extension member which can be extended and subsequently released to impart a motive force on the slidable member and propel the article of fishing tackle from the fishing device.
