  • Publication number: 20140007403
Abstract: A display fixture for displaying an object, such as bound media, includes a base having a shelf engaging portion that mounts to an underside of a shelf, a brush support portion and a brush having an elongated spine. The elongated spine is received by the brush support portion and a plurality of flexible bristles that depend downwardly from the elongated spine. The distal ends of the plurality of flexible bristles are free from contacting the base, and when not engaged with the object, the flexible bristles are oriented substantially normal to the shelf.

  • Publication number: 20140008505
Abstract: A system for displaying and supporting products on an adjustable shelf assembly, with a lower shelf and an upper shelf, using a bracket connected to a the upper shelf and an elongated brush consisting of a row of nylon bristles that are bound to a rigid spine that engages a channel formed in the bracket, where the row of bristles are oriented in a downward direction. A predetermined shelf spacing is selected such that when the product is placed on the lower shelf, an upper portion of the product will engage the row of bristles and maintain the product in a substantially vertical orientation.

  • Publication number: 20140007396
Abstract: A method and apparatus for enabling a vacuum insulated glass (VIG) window to be substituted for and/or replace a non-vacuum insulated glass window in an existing window assembly frame structure is disclosed. A width of a VIG window is substantially less than that of existing non-vacuum insulated glass (IG) windows (e.g., a double, triple or quad pane windows). A replacement stop is provided that compensates for the difference between the larger width of a non-vacuum insulated glass window and a VIG window which has a smaller width, thereby enabling the VIG window to be easily and cost effectively installed in existing window configurations originally intended for non-vacuum insulated glass windows.

  • Publication number: 20130318011
Abstract: A method detects anomalies in time series data, wherein the time series data is multivariate, by partitioning time series training data into partitions. A representation for each partition in each time window is determined to form a model of the time series training data, wherein the model includes representations of distributions of the time series training data. The representations obtained from partitions of time series test data are compared to the model to obtain anomaly scores.

  • Publication number: 20130302542
Abstract: A vacuum insulated glass (VIG) assembly is provided with a protective ring surrounding a portion of a glass pump-out tube extending beyond an outer surface of one of the glass substrates that form the vacuum insulated glass assembly. The vacuum insulated glass assembly may further include a laminated glass substrate in which a hole is formed to accommodate the protective ring and/or pump-out tube portion, wherein the protective ring protects the glass pump-out tube from damage during a lamination process. In addition, a cap may be provided over the laminated substrate to cover the hole in the laminated substrate and further cover the protective ring and sealed pump-out tube.

  • Publication number: 20130292000
Abstract: A method and apparatus for cleaning a cavity of a vacuum insulated glass window assembly is provided in which a cleaning gas mixture of or including ozone is introduced into the cavity of the vacuum insulated glass assembly and allowed to react with residual materials, such as, for example, hydrocarbons and/or polymers. Reacted hydrocarbons and/or polymers are then removed from the vacuum cavity along with any residual cleaning gas mixture. The cleaning method is preferably performed at substantially ambient temperatures or at least temperatures below about 250° C. The ozone cleaning cycle may be repeated multiple times and followed by additional purges with other gases, such as for example nitrogen. Additional energy may be provided by heating, RF plasma; corona discharge, UV lamp, and/or the like.

  • Publication number: 20130184353
Abstract: The subject invention provides a myricanol compound that is in predominant form of (+)-?R,11S-myricanol as compared to (?)-?S,11R-myricanol. In one embodiment, the (+)-?R,11S-myricanol is isolated from Myrica cerifera, and is in about 86% enantiomeric excess of (?)-?S,11R-myricanol. The subject invention also pertains to therapeutic compositions and methods for treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, in particular, neurodegenerative diseases associated with abnormal accumulation of protein tau. Specifically exemplified herein is the therapeutic use of myricanol and myricanone isolated from root barks of Myrica species. Also provided are methods for preparing extracts of the subject invention from Myrica species.

  • Publication number: 20130074445
Abstract: Certain example embodiments of this invention relate to techniques for protecting the pump-out tubes of vacuum insulating glass (VIG) units. More particularly, certain example embodiments relate to techniques for protecting a pump-out tube of a VIG unit by providing a cap around the tube, with the cap and the tube being mechanically separated from one another. In certain example embodiments, the cap and an outer surface of the substrate in which the pump-out tube is located are connected to one another via an adhesive (e.g., a double-sided tape or other adhesive). The mechanical separation or isolation as between the cap and the tube may help protect the potentially fragile glass pump-out tube, in that forces imparted to the cap preferably would be buffered from and generally not transferred to the tube.

  • Publication number: 20120304696
Abstract: A thermally insulating panel (e.g., vacuum IG window unit) includes first and second opposing substrates spaced apart from one another by a plurality of spacers. A low pressure space is defined between the substrates, and is hermetically sealed off by at least one edge seal. During evacuation of the space, a plasma is ignited within the space via a static grid assembly in order to reduce the time needed to evacuate the space down and/or to help remove debris from within the space to the desired low pressure.

  • Patent number: 8213691
Abstract: A method identifies an unknown face in an input image using reference images of known faces. A Haar-like feature vector is extracted from each image. The vectors are compressed. An L1 norm is determined between the compressed feature vector of the input image and each compressed feature vector from the set of reference images to determine a most similar reference image. The identity of the face associated with the most similar reference image is assigned as the identity of the unknown face in the input image.
