  • Publication number: 20100139225
Abstract: The present invention relates to a filter housing (1) for the accommodation of at least one air filter element, in particular for a fresh air apparatus of an internal combustion machine, with two shell bodies (2, 3) made of synthetic material which each have a flange (6, 7) and which can be fastened to each other in the area of the flange (6, 7) by means of fastening elements (8). The fastening elements (8) are produced together with each shell body (2, 3) in a common mold by means of injection molding.

  • Publication number: 20040074466
Abstract: A module for providing purified air to an internal combustion engine that does not use a throttle body. The module includes a housing an inlet for receiving fresh air and a filter for filtering the fresh air to provide purified air. The module is attached to the engine by at least one mounting member. The module also includes a plurality of runners extending between the housing and the at least one mounting member, wherein the runners direct the purified air to combustion chambers of the engine.

  • Patent number: 6422195
Abstract: An accessory drive assembly is provided for a vehicle and includes housing having first and second chambers for first and second accessory drive components, respectively. The first and second accessory drive components may be a water pump and steering pump, a water pump and alternator, or some other combination of accessory drive components. First and second driven elements are disposed within the first and second chambers, respectively. The driven elements correspond appropriately to the accessory drive component. That is, the driven element for a water pump may be an impeller, and a driven element for a power steering pump may be a gerotor assembly. A common driveshaft is supported in the housing and is coupled to the first and second driven elements. In an alternative embodiment of the present invention, the housing may be a rocker cover. The rocker cover includes a chamber formed therein for an accessory drive component such as a water pump.

  • Patent number: 6178939
Abstract: A housing for abating noise and receiving an air cleaner is disclosed. The housing is configured for separable coupling to an internal combustion engine of an automobile. The engine includes a plurality of belt driven accessories driven by a crankshaft. The housing includes an internal air cavity disposed in the housing. The cavity provides an air induction chamber adjacent an intake for inducing air into the air induction chamber from an external source and a filtering chamber adjacent an air discharge for venting air from the filtering chamber. The filtering chamber is configured to receive a filter for purifying air disposed intermediate the intake and the discharge. The engine further includes a shroud integral with the exterior of the housing. The shroud provides a peripheral wall defining a recess configured to at least partially surround at least a portion of at least two belt driven accessories. The shroud substantially reduces noise generated by the engine.
