  • Patent number: 7296237
Abstract: A data replication system and method. The method and apparatus provides for an efficient means of replicating data over a network in the form of a file between two individuals, or within defined groups of individuals, using a variety of devices to access the Internet, including computers, personal data assistants (“PDA”s) and wireless devices. A group is formed through an exchange of invitation, acceptance, and welcome messages. A group member designates a replication directory on the group member's computer. Files placed in the directory are replicated and stored in the replication directory of each of the other members of the group. Any change to a replicated file causes a message by one member to be sent to all other members. Changes are conveyed via patches that represent the changes made to a replicated file. Replicated files are saved without replacing previous versions of the replicated file. The group formation and file replication processes are accomplished using existing network protocols.

  • Publication number: 20070130084
Abstract: A transmitting gateway may utilize a retrieved domain-specific key to secure an outbound message, and a receiving gateway may utilize another retrieved domain-specific key to authenticate and validate the secured message.

  • Publication number: 20070130069
Abstract: A transmitting node may utilize a shared secret to secure at least an encapsulated address component of an outbound message, and a receiving gateway may utilize the shared secret to authenticate and validate the secured addressed component of the received message.

  • Publication number: 20050152506
Abstract: A system for correlating a subscriber unit to a physical port in a point to multipoint wire line network is disclosed. An installer is prompted to manually input a location code associated with the subscriber. The location code in the subscriber unit is received, and is transmitted via the network to a central repository. The location code is stored in the central repository toward associating the location code with the physical port.

  • Patent number: 6473893
Abstract: An information object allows arbitrary structured or unstructured information to be bundled with instructions for processing. The object is packed into a container with a well defined structure that is processed on a client computer system. The client computer system possesses a runtime environment that processes the information object and allows it to communicate with other applications. The information object is fundamentally different from a file system or other types of container systems in its assignment of context to entries. By applying a context identifier, the runtime system which processes the information object, retrieves selected entries for selected tasks.

  • Patent number: 5689941
Abstract: A compression apparatus for compressing livestock feed comprises a hopper for receiving the feed; a precompression assembly precompressing the feed; a first compression chamber coupled to the hopper to receive the precompressed feed therefrom; a first ram movable along a longitudinal axis of the first compression chamber and having a first pusher plate for pushing the precompressed feed along the longitudinal axis of the first compression chamber to produce a compressed block of mixed feed product; and a second, reduced volume compression chamber operatively connected to the first compression chamber at a distal end of the first compression chamber for receiving compressed feed pushed from the first compression chamber by the first pusher plate. The first pusher plate defines one side of the second compression chamber when the first ram is fully extended and the second compression chamber has an opening at one end thereof for discharging the compressed feed.
