Abstract: A beach umbrella anchoring system including an anchor member container, in the form of a cylindrical beach umbrella carrying bag, for containing a weighting medium, such as sand or water, and a connector for connecting the container to a beach umbrella restraining device; and a beach umbrella restraining device including a flexible cable member, a releasable connector fixed to one end of the cable for releasably connecting the cable to a beach umbrella, a second releasable connector, fixed to the other end of the cable, for releasably connecting the cable member to the anchor member, and a third releasable connector, attached to the anchor member for releasably attaching to the ground. The anchoring system may be supplied in the form of a kit comprising the anchoring member (beach bag), umbrella and the restraining device.

Abstract: Dynamic Trust Manager (DTM) having an interface coupled to an embedded system including an Application Processor (AP), boot media, and security processor. The security processor, at a start of a boot sequence of the AP, prevents the AP from proceeding with the boot sequence, verifies bootloader code stored in the boot media via boot media access, and if the bootloader code verification is successful, allows the AP to proceed using the verified bootloader code. The security processor may also be configured to activate an interrupt request of the AP during runtime, request the AP to execute a Security Monitor Driver (SMD) of the embedded system to measure an integrity information of code/data stored in an embedded system memory, receive from the SMD the measured integrity information of code/data, and verify whether the measured integrity information equals a reference integrity information stored in an integrity table of a DTM memory.

The lamp further comprises an active cooling device, in which the active cooling device is in fluid communication with the at least one air flow nozzle and is configured to provide a flow of air to the at least one air flow nozzle. The lamp further comprises driver electronics configured to provide power to each of the light source and the active cooling device, wherein the driver electronics are remote from the active cooling device.

The mobile phone is coupled with the peripheral device by a communication link. Contacts stored by the mobile phone are copied to the peripheral device. The contacts include contact names and corresponding dummy phone numbers. Each contact name and corresponding dummy phone number is associated with a corresponding mobile phone state. A user can interact with the peripheral device to select a contact name of the contacts as if initiating a phone call with the corresponding dummy phone number to cause the corresponding mobile phone state to be activated at the mobile phone. Examples of mobile phone state activations/changes include activating an application in the mobile phone, or activating a particular SIM (subscriber identity module) of multiple SIMs of the mobile phone.

Abstract: A beach umbrella includes a storage space or compartment in the interior of the umbrella for the storage of valuables and sundries. The storage space is formed on the underside of the canopy of the umbrella by a piece of fabric secured at its outer edges to the juncture of the umbrella's canopy ribs and stretcher ribs and at its center to the operating runner that slides up and down on the umbrella center pole. A secure opening accommodates inserting sundry articles into and removing them from the space between the canopy and the fabric. The umbrella has the appearance of a standard umbrella and folds and expands in conventional manner, yet provides a convenient storage space for valuables and sundries.

Abstract: Footwear having a shoe upper and a sandal type sole are made from an upper having a lower marginal edge with a plurality of spaced fingers extending from the lower marginal edge, a footbed having a peripheral edge and a plurality of spaced slots therethrough adjacent the peripheral edge and aligned respectively with the fingers, the fingers being extended through the slots and folded over onto the lower surface of the foot bed, an outsole secured to the lower surface of the footbed and the folded portions of the fingers and securing the fingers between the footbed and the outsole, and a structural arrangement for concealing from view the lower marginal edge and the fingers of the upper. A mid-sole is optionally provided between the footbed and the outsole. A method of making the footwear is described.
