  • Publication number: 20150136801
Abstract: Disclosed is a rubber band dispenser suitable for use in homes, offices and industrial settings which is capable of repeatedly dispensing single rubber bands from a multiplicity of rubber bands. A version is disclosed in which a queue of rubber bands is continually pressed against a flange by means of a spring mechanism or the force of a weight with one or more gaps in an outer housing placed over the core of rubber bands. A guide may be used in the areas of the gap to urge distortion of one or more sections of the rubber band and cause it to form a graspable portion. In another variation, a mechanical ejector is actuated by the user to push against one rubber band, causing it to flex and form a graspable portion protruding from an orifice in a housing. Actuation may be by direct mechanical linkage to an operator-moved element, or by an electric powered actuator. Sequential queuing of rubber bands may be accomplished by means of a spring mechanism or using a weight.

  • Publication number: 20140255079
Abstract: Disclosed is a telescoping writing implement that retracts the writing point when in the collapsed position. Importantly, it is simple in design, uses a minimized number of parts, and, uses no metal coil spring. In its most general form, an external pen body is mechanically connected to a writing cartridge such as ballpoint pen refill or touch screen stylus through at least one aperture in a guide tube. Movement of the external pen body downward draws the writing cartridge down inside the guide tube until the writing end of the writing cartridge is exposed and the connecting means such as a clip, screw or pin contacts the lower edge of the aperture or apertures. When the outer pen body is moved upward, it draws the writing cartridge with it inside the guide tube until the writing end is protected inside the guide tube. The limits of travel are governed by the dimensions of the aperture or apertures when the connecting means contacts the edge of the aperture or apertures.

  • Patent number: 7306569
Abstract: The systems described herein provide an improved skin care system including a handheld device having a contact head movable in a three-dimensional orbital manner having a contact surface for contacting the skin. A skin care product can be applied to the skin via the contact surface. The contact head is adaptable to skin and body contours. The handheld device can include an activatable motion system for moving the contact surface in an angular orbital manner about an axis normal to the surface. The motion system can also cause the contact surface to deflect in a direction and radially rotate the direction of deflection in a clockwise or counter-clockwise manner. The orbital rotation can be continuous, stepped, random and the like.
