  • Publication number: 20230246428
Abstract: A cord protector detachably securable to an object includes a main body having at least one channel disposed therein that extends along a longitudinal length of the main body. The channel is capable of receiving and securing a cord, line, or tube therein. The cord protector further includes a clamping/gripping/fastening mechanism formed of a pair of oppositely disposed clamping/gripping/fastening arms that extend from opposite sides of the main body. At least a first arm of the clamping/gripping/fastening arms is adjustably positionable and securable relative to a second arm of the clamping/gripping/fastening arms such that a distance between the first and second arms can be varied. The cord protector is capable of being detachably secured to the object by opening the clamping/gripping/fastening arms about the object and clamping the clamping/gripping/fastening arms upon the object.

  • Patent number: 11626715
Abstract: A cord protector detachably securable to an object includes a main body having at least one channel disposed therein that extends along a portion of a longitudinal length of the main body and the channel is capable of receiving and securing a cord, line, or tube therein. The cord protector further includes a clamping/gripping mechanism formed of a pair of oppositely disposed clamping/gripping arms that extend from opposite sides of the main body, which are biased toward one another such that the clamping/gripping arms maintain a substantially closed position at rest. The cord protector is capable of being detachably secured to the object by opening the clamping/gripping arms against the bias and allowing the clamping/gripping arms to return toward the resting position such that they close and clamp upon the object.

  • Publication number: 20210339064
Abstract: A force damper arranged to progressively arrest a first force imparted by an object moving in a first direction is disclosed. The force damper includes a housing enclosure having a first housing end and a second housing end. The first housing end includes a first connection point, and the second housing end includes an opening. A driving member is disposed within the housing enclosure and includes a first shaft end, a second shaft end, and a shaft therebetween. The first shaft end includes a stop and the second shaft end includes a second connection point. A compressible member is disposed within the housing enclosure between the stop and the opening. The compressible member is formed from a material that at least partially undergoes plastic deformation when the first force is arrested and imparts a second force on the stop toward first housing end.

  • Publication number: 20210178202
Abstract: A force damping system progressively arrests a force imparted by an object generally includes a force damper member, a tear-away lanyard, and a force absorbing harness. The force damper member includes a compression member and a sacrificially elongatable member. The compression member is elastically deformable and compressible when the force is imparted, and the sacrificially elongatable member is plastically deformable and elongatable when the force is imparted. The tear-away lanyard includes a first terminal end and a second terminal end and at least a pair of sacrificial tear-away regions disposed between the first and second terminal ends. The force absorbing harness includes a harness connection member capable of connecting at least one of the first terminal or second terminal end of the tear-away lanyard, the harness connection member includes a sacrificial member that is plastically deformable when the force is imparted.
