  • Patent number: 9898500
Abstract: Improved techniques and systems for storage, delivery and acquisition of digital assets stored in cloud data storage. Cloud data storage can be provided by a cloud data repository that is capable of storing digital data for various users. A given user can access cloud data storage from any of his/her authorized client devices via a network. A given client device can access not only locally stored digital assets but also remotely stored digital assets from cloud data storage. In one embodiment, downloads of digital assets resident in cloud data storage to client devices can be managed in view of available network performance. As one example, digital assets of differing quality levels can be downloaded in a manner dependent on network performance. As another example, locally stored digital assets of reduced quality can be upgraded (e.g., replaced) by higher quality versions in a manner dependent on network performance.

  • Publication number: 20180033078
Abstract: Providing an online store interface that maintains continuity of a user browsing experience by layering a product view on top of referring product views or online-store pages such that a user can navigate back to the referring page without needing the previous page to reload, and re-navigate to the point the user left off. Providing the ability for an item preview to continue even when a user navigates the online store interface away from the preview page further preserves browsing continuity. The present technology also provides a mechanism for allowing users to specify favorite categories and have them listed as tabs in the user interface when the online store is browsed with an appropriate device.

  • Publication number: 20180005316
Abstract: Separate user accounts can be linked into a group of linked user accounts so that content items assigned to each of the user accounts can be accessed by each user account in the group. Linking user accounts in this way allows the individual user accounts to share content items while also retaining their individual properties such as username, password, preference data, etc. Linking user accounts allows each user account to retain the content items assigned to the user account when the user account is unlinked from the group. Linking user accounts can be restricted according to linking rules that dictate how many user accounts can be included in a group, when a user account can be added or removed from a group, etc. A master user account can set parameters restricting content items accessible to the user accounts in the group, as well as money spent be each user account.

  • Publication number: 20170364246
Abstract: In some embodiments, a device displays functionality information in response to receiving an indication of a first input for which a contact meets functionality display criteria. In some embodiments, a device generates a user interface that includes a navigation bar including images from different positions in a respective content item, and a representation of an adjacent content item. In some embodiments, a device moves a selection-indicator in a user interface by a predefined amount in response to receiving an indication of a first input that meets unitary movement criteria. In some embodiments, a device interprets movement of a contact of an input based at least in part on a grip of a user. In some embodiments, a device displays a plurality of character selection options when a text entry field is not tolerant of character ambiguity and a first input corresponds to a plurality of candidate characters.

  • Publication number: 20170357421
Abstract: In accordance with some embodiments, a method includes displaying a representation of a first automatically-generated playlist, the representation of the first automatically-generated playlist including representations of a first set of media items selected for inclusion in the first automatically-generated playlist based on first playlist generation criteria for the first automatically-generated playlist. While displaying the first automatically-generated playlist, detecting user interaction with the representations of the first set of media items, and then detecting that a first update criterion for the first automatically-generated playlist has been met. In response, the method includes updating the first set of media items based on the first playlist generation criteria and the user interaction with the representations of the first set of media items—by adding or removing one or more removed media items from the first set of media items, and/or maintaining media items in the first set of media items.

  • Patent number: 9716774
Abstract: A system, method, and computer-readable medium for method for syncing a user interface on a server device to a user interface on a client device are disclosed. The method includes broadcasting a signal from a server device to a client device when the server device presents an active user input interface on a display screen, wherein the active user input interface illustrates input from a user via a remote control that is separate from the client device, wherein the remote control requires multiple steps for inputting a character. The method next includes establishing a connection between the server device and the client device if certain pre-defined criteria are met. Next the method includes transmitting parameters for displaying a client user input interface on the connected client device that is associated with the active user input interface, including loading existing data in an input field of the active user input interface into a client input field on the client device.
