  • Publication number: 20240126804
Abstract: A method at a client device includes displaying media library information corresponding to a set of media items. The media items include one or more local media items, the one or more local media items including media items stored at the client device, and one or more remote media items, the one or more remote media items including media items stored at a remote system and not at the client device. The method also includes displaying, concurrently with displaying the media library information, affordances identifying the remote media items; detecting user interaction with an affordance identifying a respective remote media item; and in response to detecting the user interaction, initiating a process for downloading a copy of the respective remote media item to the client device for storage at the client device.

  • Patent number: 11960707
Abstract: An electronic device provides, to a display, data to present a user interface that includes a plurality of user interface objects, and a current focus on a first user interface object. While the display is presenting the user interface, the electronic device receives an input that corresponds to a movement of a contact across on a touch-sensitive surface. The electronic device, in response to receiving the input and in accordance with a determination that a first axis is a dominant axis, moves the current focus along the first axis by a first amount and along the second axis by a second amount. The amount of movement of the current focus along the second axis is reduced to a first non-zero amount by a scaling factor that is based on one or more inputs received prior to receiving the input.

  • Publication number: 20240045572
Abstract: An electronic device provides, to a display, while in a screensaver mode, data to present a first media, that includes a first visual motion effect. In response to receiving a user input on a remote user input device, a type of the user input on the remote user input device is determined. If the user input is of a first type, the device provides, to the display, data to present the first media, that includes the first visual motion effect, with corresponding descriptive text. If the user input is of a second type, the device exits the screensaver mode.

  • Publication number: 20240020725
Abstract: A technique that can be implemented by the digital asset repository, and includes the steps of (1) receiving, from a first application executing on the first computing device, a request to access information associated with a second application managed by the digital asset repository, wherein the request: (i) is transmitted in response to a selection of a user interface that is displayed by the first application and that relates to the second application, and (ii) includes a set of parameters that is provided by a remote server and that specifies at least one utilization requirement pertaining to the second application; (2) receiving, from the second application, an indication that activity associated with the second application has been performed; (3) determining, based on the indication, that the at least one utilization requirement is satisfied; and (4) providing the set of parameters to a metrics manager executing on a second computing device.

  • Patent number: 11816694
Abstract: The embodiments set forth techniques for managing advertisement attributions. A first technique can be implemented by an “app store” application, and include the steps of (1) receiving, from a first user application, a request to view a second user application, where the request includes a set of digitally-signed parameters that are specific to an advertising campaign (provided by an advertisement network) for the second user application that is presented by the first user application. In turn, and in response to identifying that the second user application satisfies at least one criterion, the app store application provides the set of digitally-signed parameters to an advertisement metrics manager that: (i) verifies the set of digitally-signed parameters, and (ii) indicates, to the advertisement network, that business logic should be carried out in association with the first user application and the second user application. A second technique for managing advertisement attributions is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11792256
Abstract: A remotely controlled device receives touch input data from a remote controller that includes a touch screen. The remotely controller device interprets the touch input data in combination with a current context of the GUI to determine an appropriate command for the current context of the GUI, and updates the GUI in response to the appropriate command. Further, the remotely controlled device sends information via a bidirectional communication protocol to the remote controller informing the remote controller of a context displaying a keyboard, and the remote controller is configured to display a keyboard on its touch screen in response to the information sent via the bidirectional communication protocol.

  • Patent number: 11706729
Abstract: Methods and systems provide synchronized sharing of multimedia between multiple devices. The multiple devices may form an ad-hoc network for sharing of multimedia. In an embodiment, group members may have playlist manipulation privileges such as pausing, rewinding, fast forwarding, or adding tracks to the playlist. A system may stream or distribute content according to the shared playlist. Playback may be synchronized for group members so that everyone is exposed to a same part of the content as the same time.
