Publication number: 20220397404Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for dynamically routing pickers and autonomous vehicles to avoid areas closed to travel by the autonomous vehicles within a warehouse. A processor in communication with an autonomous vehicle and an electronic device operated by a user (e.g., handheld device) may, in response to detecting that the electronic device diverges from a path of the autonomous vehicle, provide, for display on the electronic device, information about the product. The processor may then determine a rendezvous location for the autonomous vehicle based on a location of the product. The processor may then instruct the autonomous vehicle to navigate to the rendezvous location and transmit the rendezvous location to the electronic device.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 9, 2021Publication date: December 15, 2022Inventors: Catherine Jones FRANEY, Jeffrey LARSON

Patent number: 9451863Abstract: A wine-glass polisher includes a housing having at least one cleaning chamber defined by a bottom wall and at least one sidewall. Extending from the sidewall is a wine-glass holder including a horizontal arm having a C-shaped gripping member at a distal end for holding the stem of an inverted wine glass. Immediately above the gripping member is a motorized disc for engaging the base of a wine glass to rotate it during a cleaning and drying cycle. Mounted on the sidewall, below the wine-glass holder, is an upper dispensing nozzle for projecting either drying air or steam onto the exterior surface of a wine glass. Upwardly extending from the bottom wall of the cleaning chamber is a lower dispensing nozzle for projecting drying air or hot water onto the interior surface of a wine glass. Hot water and air are sequentially delivered to the nozzles to clean and subsequently dry a wine glass.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2013Date of Patent: September 27, 2016Inventors: Jeffrey Larson, Danielle L. Patent number: 8506360Abstract: A wine-glass polisher includes a base unit having a frustoconical cleaning chamber removably fastened thereto. A steam generator, an air heater and a vacuum pump are each in fluid communication with the cleaning chamber. A portion of the steam and hot air is directed to a channel formed in the chamber outer wall. An annular, U-shaped baffle surrounding the open top is in fluid communication with the channel for projecting the steam and hot air downwardly toward a wine glass below. A remaining portion of the heated air and steam is delivered directly to the upper surface of the base unit to clean and dry the interior surface of the glass. A controller first initiates a polishing cycle by activating the vacuum pump and steam generator. Upon expiration of the predetermined duration, the controller activates the blower to dry the exterior and interior surfaces of the glass.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2010Date of Patent: August 13, 2013Inventor: Jeffrey Larson

Publication number: 20070073110Abstract: The present invention provides methods and apparatus in which a surgical retractor comprises a plurality of mechanically coupled tissue retaining walls that are guided into position along one or more guides previously implanted into the patient. The walls are preferably coupled by pivots, so that separating some of the walls from one another opens an operating space. There are preferably two guides, which are driven or screwed into the pedicles of vertebrae, or other bone. Oversized channels are best disposed in a frame, which also serves to hold lock the walls apart. Various convenience features are contemplated including a web disposed between the walls, which expands as the walls are separated. Also contemplated are projections from near the bottoms of one or more of the walls, which can alternatively or additionally help to hold the underlying tissue in place.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 21, 2006Publication date: March 29, 2007Inventors: Jeffrey Larson, Theodore Bertele, Louis Greenberg, Scott Schorer

Publication number: 20060155170Abstract: The present invention provides methods and apparatus in which a surgical retractor comprises a plurality of mechanically coupled tissue retaining walls that are guided into position along one or more guides previously implanted into the patient. The walls are preferably coupled by pivots, so that separating some of the walls from one another opens an operating space. There are preferably two guides, which are driven or screwed into the pedicles of vertebrae, or other bone. Since practical considerations will usually mean that the guides are completely parallel to one another, the retractor has oversized channels to receive the guides. The channels are best disposed in a frame, which also serves to hold lock the walls apart. Various convenience features are contemplated including a web disposed between the walls, which expands as the walls are separated.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 26, 2005Publication date: July 13, 2006Inventors: Shaun Hanson, Jeffrey Larson, Theodore Bertele, Louis Greenberg, Scott Schorer

Patent number: 7014608Abstract: The present invention provides methods and apparatus in which a surgical retractor comprises a plurality of mechanically coupled tissue retaining walls that are guided into position along one or more guides previously implanted into the patient. The walls are preferably coupled by pivots, so that separating some of the walls from one another opens an operating space. There are preferably two guides, which are driven or screwed into the pedicles of vertebrae, or other bone. Since practical considerations will usually mean that the guides are not generally parallel to one another, the guides are capable of polyaxial movement with respect to the pedicles, and retractor is provided with oversized channels to receive the guides. The channels may be conveniently disposed in a frame, which also serves to hold lock the walls apart. Various convenience features are contemplated including a web disposed between the walls, which expands as the walls are separated.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2003Date of Patent: March 21, 2006Assignee: Synthes Spine Company, LPInventors: Jeffrey Larson, Theodore Bertele, Louis Greenberg, Scott Schorer
