  • Patent number: 10804565
Abstract: Solid electrolytes have a favorable combination of properties such as high conductivity, high transference number, optimum processability, and low brittleness. A composite electrolyte includes some amount of a class of network polymer electrolytes with high transference number and high room temperature conductivity, and an additional polymeric component to contribute mechanical integrity and/or processability. The solid electrolytes can include a network polymer having linked nodes composed of a tetrahedral arylborate composition and a linear polymer combined with the network polymer as a composite. The solid electrolytes can be used in thin films and in solid-state batteries.

  • Publication number: 20190320740
Abstract: A disposable scented face mask designed to provide a therapeutic scent to a user while wearing a disposable mask. The disposable scented face mask is a disposable mask having an inner surface and an outer surface, wherein the inner surface is designed to cover a nose and a mouth of a user. A scented area is disposed atop the exterior of the disposable mask. An adjustable nose clip disposed on the inner surface of the disposable mask along a top edge, wherein the nose clip is designed to contour to the nose of the user. At least one strap is disposed on each opposing side of the disposable mask, wherein each strap is designed to secure the disposable mask to the face of the user. In this way, a user is able to wear a disposable mask that encompasses a therapeutic scent.

  • Publication number: 20070069427
Abstract: A method for controlling pore size of a membrane that includes providing a porous magnetic architecture and magnetizing the porous magnetic architecture. The porous magnetic architecture changes pore size when magnetized. A method for inhibiting the mobility of a solute through a membrane includes magnetizing a porous magnetic architecture in a flow stream that includes a solute. A membrane system for a solute includes a porous magnetic architecture disposed within a flow stream that also includes a solute, and a magnetic source disposed such that the nonuniform porous magnetic architecture is selectively magnetized.

  • Publication number: 20060184492
Abstract: An apparatus for storage, selective inspection, and execution of complex, contingent rules, comprises a computer having one or more central processing units, a user interface, and magnetic, optical, or other media for data and program storage and retrieval. Rules are defined partly as programs and partly as data. Access procedures for selecting certain appropriate rules under the defined conditions. A display or other output procedures for conveying the results of the rule selections to people, to the computer executing the rules, and to other computers.

  • Publication number: 20050254605
Abstract: A method and apparatus for decoding trellis-coded digital data. Digital data samples that have been convolutionally encoded by trellis-coded modulation (TCM) for purposes of forward error correction require a computationally intensive Viterbi decoder for best performance. A technique known as pragmatic trellis-code modulation (PTCM) reduces decoder complexity but at the expense of degraded performance in some situations. This disclosure provides a solution that retains the reduced complexity of PTCM, but uses a full trellis approach that yields significantly better performance in terms of bit error rate (BER).
