  • Patent number: 12060802
Abstract: The present application provides a replaceable galvanic protection anode system for preventing and limiting the effects of liberation and damage to airfoils in a gas turbine, wherein turbine components are covered by a sacrificial material. The galvanic protection layer of the replaceable anodes may include a sacrificial material, such as aluminum, wherein the material provides corrosion resistance to the substrate. Additionally, the galvanic protection layer may include a sacrificial conductive material insert for increasing the conductivity of the sacrificial material and further improve the corrosion resistance of the replaceable anodes.

  • Patent number: 5123977
Abstract: A method is provided for improving the electrical characteristics of grain-oriented silicon steel sheet by heating the steel to temperatures above 1000.degree. F. and then deforming grooves to refine the magnetic domains, optionally, post heat treating to form fine recrystallized grains in the vicinity of the hot deformations, preferably using protrusions on a scribing roll as the sheet moves between a scribing roll and a back-up anvil roll at deforming pressures range up to 120,000 pounds per square inch.

  • Patent number: 4911766
Abstract: A method is provided for refining the magnetic domain wall spacing of grain-oriented silicon steel having a forsterite base coating thereon by removing portions of the base coating to expose a pattern of the underlying silicon steel, providing the exposed silicon steel with an environment selected from the group of phosphorus and phosphorus-bearing compounds, and then annealing the exposed steel, which is free of thermal and plastic stresses, in the phosphorus environment in a reducing atmosphere to produce in the steel a line of permanent bodies containing a phosphorus-bearing compound to effect heat resistant domain refinement and reduced core loss.A semi-finished sheet product of final texture annealed grain-oriented silicon steel is also provided.
