  • Publication number: 20230285078
Abstract: A laser fiber apparatus and method for preparing the apparatus is described herein. An apparatus comprising a laser fiber having a proximal end, a distal end, a core, and a cladding. A lens at the distal end of the laser fiber is proximally elongated from bulbous in shape. The core of the laser fiber transmits laser energy from a laser source coupled to the proximal end through the lens. The cladding of the laser fiber also circumferentially coats at least the proximally elongated portion of the lens, and epoxy material circumferentially coats the cladding, a portion of the lens distal the cladding, and defines an aperture at the apex of the lens.

  • Publication number: 20230276808
Abstract: Microbial compositions for application to plants, plant parts and plant seeds are provided for improvement of plant disease resistance and/or other beneficial plant traits, particularly resistance or tolerance to soybean sudden death syndrome (SDS) caused by a Fusarium species and/or disease caused by a Pythium species. Methods of making and applying microbial compositions or formulations to plants, plant parts or plant seeds or to growth media are further provided to increase or improve plant disease resistance and/or other beneficial plant traits.

  • Publication number: 20220252776
Abstract: The present invention provides devices and methods of manufacture related to transmitting light to a target site for diffusion Techniques are provided which allow accurate control of the illumination profile with a diffuser tip design which is easily producible, relatively inexpensive, and provides variations to obtain desired illumination profiles. This is achieved by using at least two light scattering mediums having a shape defined by an insert. The dimensions, light scattering properties, and number of such light scattering mediums may be selected individually or collectively to selectively control the illumination profile. In addition, the insert allows for other beneficial design features, such as a reduced heat retention, easily controlled and refined light scattering medium interfaces, and a smaller cross-sectional diameter than is typically achievable with other techniques.

  • Patent number: 6320094
Abstract: A disposable eye patch includes a first sheet member, a second sheet member smaller than the first sheet member, and an adhesive layer applied to one side of the first sheet member. One portion of the adhesive layer bonds the first and second sheet members together, and another portion of the adhesive layer adheres to the tissue surrounding an eye when the eye patch is applied to a patient. A release layer may be provided to cover the exposed portion of the adhesive layer, and may be peeled off prior to the use of the eye patch. The release layer and a plurality of eye patches may be provided in the form of a dispenser roll assembly. In a method of manufacturing the disposable eye patch, the first and second sheet members may both be formed from a sheet material having an adhesive layer, and then the first and second sheet members may be adhered together with the adhesive layer on one of the sheet members contacting the adhesive layer on the other one of the sheet members.
