  • Publication number: 20150237074
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for receiving an access request from a user device, the access request including an identity claim for a user; evaluating a risk of access based on matching an attribute of the user device with attributes stored in a user information database; authenticating the access request based on the identity claim and the risk evaluation to determine an authentication confidence level; generating a token based on the confidence level and the attribute matched; producing an authorization response based on inputs from the token, a risk based access control, a role based access control, and an attribute based access control, in which the authorization response determines whether to allow access to a system, deny access to the system, or request additional input from the user device.

  • Patent number: 8076926
Abstract: A digital multimeter comprises a rotary switch and a rotary switch memory. The rotary switch can be moved between a plurality of positions to change the function performed by the digital multimeter. When the rotary switch is in a particular position, a user can change the function currently associated with that position from a default function to a non-default function. Thereafter, when the user moves the rotary switch away from the particular and then subsequently moves the position back to the particular position, the multimeter resumes the non-default function without requiring further user-input.

  • Publication number: 20090285677
Abstract: Systems and methods for cooling heated components in a turbine are provided. According to one embodiment, a system for cooling a turbine is provided that may include at least one liquid source which may include a coolant liquid. The system may also include at least one liquid nozzle in fluid communication with the liquid source or sources and operable to deliver the coolant liquid in an atomized form adjacent to at least one heated turbine component positioned in a hot gas path of the turbine. Upon delivering the atomized coolant liquid adjacent to the heated turbine component or components, at least a portion of the coolant liquid substantially changes phase to a gas.

  • Publication number: 20090128127
Abstract: A digital multimeter stores multiple sequential measurements of physical or electrical parameters. Each of the sequential measurements has a name including an automatically generated descriptor. The descriptor for each sequential measurement may indicate a relative position of the measurement within the sequence. For instance, the descriptor may indicate whether the measurement was obtained before or after other measurements in the sequence.

  • Publication number: 20080260914
Abstract: A ready-to-eat cereal is provided. The ready-to-eat cereal product contains encapsulated flavor particles throughout the dough of the product that withstand a cooker/extruder and rupture upon human mastication. The encapsulated flavor particles provide a delayed and intense flavor to the consumer.

  • Publication number: 20080051160
Abstract: A holder, electrical supply, and optional radio frequency transmitter unit to hold, supply power to, and receive a data signal from an operating electronic device when the device (e.g., MP3 player) is held in the unit is disclosed. Electrical power enters the unit's power acquisition portion (e.g., cigarette lighter adapter) from an external source and flows to the electronic device via the holder. A data signal from the electronic device is processed by an radio frequency transmitter in the unit, and the resulting radio frequency signal is broadcast by an antenna (e.g., gooseneck) that preferably forms a repositionable mechanical connection between the holder and the power acquisition unit.

  • Publication number: 20070104705
Abstract: Compositions comprising thrombin and methods of preparing them are disclosed. The composition may be in the form of an aqueous solution at pH 5.7-7.4 consisiting essentially of 0.1 mg/mL to 5.0 mg/mL thrombin, 2% to 4% (w/v) sucrose, 3.5% to 5% (w/v) mannitol, 50 mM to 300 mM NaCl, 0-5 mM CaCl2, 0.03% to 1% (w/v) of a surfactant or high-molecular-weight polyethylene glycol, and a physiologically acceptable buffer, or may be in lyophilized form.

  • Publication number: 20070048263
Abstract: The expression vectors and methods using an E. coli expression system for the large scale production of IL-21 are described. The vectors utilize the IL-21 coding sequence with specific changes in nucleotides in order to optimize codons and mRNA secondary structure for translation in E. coli. Using the expression vectors, the IL-21 gene was produced in E. coli to a level of greater than 1 g/L in fed batch fermentation. Also included are OmpT deficient E. coli strains transformed with an IL-2 1 expression vector.

  • Publication number: 20060293118
Abstract: A metal wood golf club head adapted for attachment to a shaft, comprising of a body portion and a crown portion, each portion constructed of a different density material. Combining a high-density material in the body portion, with a low-density material in the crown portion, creates an ultra-low center of gravity relative to the geometric face center, resulting in higher launch angles and spin rate ratios. The material for the crown portion is preferably a composite. The crown portion comprises an inner surface layer of a vibration dampening material. The transverse surfaces of the crown and body portions creating a gap that is filled with a shock absorption material such as putty or a rubber based structural adhesive.
