  • Patent number: 12067229
Abstract: An electronic device detects a contact on a touch-sensitive surface of the electronic device, including a first portion of a gesture made with the contact, a second portion of the gesture that follows the first portion, and lift-off of the contact from the touch-sensitive surface during or after the second portion of the gesture. In response to detecting the second portion of the gesture, if a modifier input was detected while detecting the first portion of the gesture made with the contact, the electronic device performs a first operation and generates a first tactile output on the touch-sensitive surface. If the modifier input was not detected while detecting the first portion of the gesture, the electronic device performs a second operation different from the first operation and generates a second tactile output on the touch-sensitive surface, wherein the second tactile output is different from the first tactile output.

  • Patent number: 12064685
Abstract: A device for online gaming includes an actuation component and a controller communicatively coupled to a computer system. The controller is configured to perform operations including detecting an actuation of the actuation component, wherein the actuation component is associated with performing of an action in a video game executed by the computer system. Responsive to detecting the actuation, an instruction is provided to the computer system to perform the action, wherein, based on a current value of a timer, the computer system restricts the action from being performed. The timer, having been previously initiated based on a prior actuation of the actuation component, relates to a cooldown period during which the action cannot be repeated after the action is performed. Responsive to receiving a command from the computer system, a tactile effect is generated as an indication to a user that the action can be repeated.

  • Publication number: 20240223486
Abstract: An event detection system in a telecommunications network is coupled to base stations to receive characteristics of uplink network traffic transmitted to the base stations. The event detection system identifies a geographic area in which the one or more characteristics of a subset of the uplink network traffic, generated by electronic devices located within the identified geographic area, satisfy a criterion. An event indicator is generated based on the subset of uplink network traffic. The event indicator can then be used by the event detection system, another component of the telecommunications network, or an external system to provide an event-based service that leverages information about events to provide information or content to people participating in or nearby to an event.

  • Publication number: 20240223997
Abstract: An event indicator is received from an event detection system in a data network. The event indicator identifies a geographic area in which characteristics of uplink network traffic, generated by electronic devices located within the identified geographic area, satisfy a criterion. One or more media content items that were generated by respective electronic devices located within the identified geographic area are identified. Each media content item is mapped to a respective location within the identified geographic area based on a location of the respective electronic device that generated the media content item. A first media content item is output to an emergency response system based on the location to which the first media content item is mapped.

  • Publication number: 20240207991
Abstract: A debris collection assembly includes a jig and an adapter insert. The jig includes a front wall and a back wall opposite the front wall. The front wall defines an aperture therethrough. The back wall defines an adapter opening that aligns with the aperture. The jig includes a vacuum port and defines an interior cavity that fluidly connects the aperture, the adapter opening, and the vacuum port. The adapter insert is removably loaded through the adapter opening into the interior cavity of the jig. The adapter insert defines an orifice sized to receive a drill bit and allow the drill bit to extend through the aperture in the front wall to drill into a work piece. Negative pressure at the vacuum port draws airflow through the interior cavity and captures debris generated from drilling.
