Publication number: 20170186464Abstract: A system for providing digital video recorder options for editing content is disclosed. In particular, the system may include receiving requests for a first version of media content and providing access to the first version of the media content. A user that accesses the first version of the media content may select a portion of the media content, and indicate whether, for example, the portion should be skipped, modified, or emphasized when the media content is accessed on a subsequent occasion. The system, based on the selection and indication, may edit the first version of the media content to create a second version of the media content. When a subsequent attempt is made to access the first version of the media content, the system may provide the user with the option to access the second version of the media content.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 16, 2017Publication date: June 29, 2017Applicant: AT&T INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY I, L.P.Inventors: John P. Patent number: 9681098Abstract: A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, receiving first and second media content portraying images of first and second users, wherein the first and second users participate in a conference call. Joint media content is generated of the conference call including the images of the first and second users, that when presented at a display of a third user includes the images of the first and second users. Speech of the first user directed to the second user is detected and, in response, the image of the first user of the joint media content is adjusted to obtain a rotated image of the first user. The joint media content includes the rotated image of the first user and the image of the second user, that when presented at the display of the third user portrays the first user turned toward the second user.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2016Date of Patent: June 13, 2017Assignee: AT&T INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY I, L.P.Inventors: Tara Hines, Andrea Basso, Aleksey Ivanov, Jeffrey Mikan, Nadia Morris

Publication number: 20170160735Abstract: A system for providing drone piggybacking on vehicles is disclosed. In particular, the system may enable drones or other unmanned mobile connected devices to piggyback onto various types of hosts, such as vehicles, in a symbiotic fashion. Through the symbiotic relationship created between the drones and hosts, the drones may utilize the hosts as a means for transport, such as while delivering a good to an intended destination, and the hosts may receive certain incentives in exchange for transporting the drones. Drones may be paired with hosts based on any number of factors, such as whether the host is traveling on a route that corresponds with reaching the intended destination, whether the host is capable of recharging the drone, and whether the drone has sufficient power to reach the intended destination. By enabling drones to piggyback with hosts, the required traveling range for a drone may be reduced.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 3, 2015Publication date: June 8, 2017Applicants: AT&T INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY I, L.P., AT&T Mobility II LLCInventors: Jeffrey Mikan, Fulvio Cenciarelli, John P. Publication number: 20170140448Abstract: A system for mitigating returns is disclosed. In particular, the system may analyze an order made by a user for an item. The system may apply one or more filters to the order to determine if the ordered item is compatible with the user's profile, devices, accounts, preferences, or a combination thereof. Based on the application of the filters, the system may determine if a conflict exists between the ordered item and the user's profile, devices, accounts, preferences. If a conflict is determined to exist, the system may notify the user and adjust the order to generate a new order for a different item that is compatible for the user so as to mitigate a return. An order may then be transmitted to a virtual assistant for approval, which may reject the order or approve the order for completion.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 18, 2015Publication date: May 18, 2017Inventors: Fulvio Cenciarelli, Quinn Aguirre, III, John P. Publication number: 20170070472Abstract: Social networking is used to enhance content delivery to mobile devices. Sometimes a mobile device lacks network connectivity, such as when the mobile device is off or offline. Content cannot be sent to the mobile device when lacking network connectivity. A social network, however, may be retrieved for interim storage of the content. When the mobile device lacks network connectivity, the content may be routed to a member device of the social network. The member device stores the content until the mobile device resumes network connectivity. The member device may then send or forward the content to the mobile device.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 18, 2016Publication date: March 9, 2017Applicant: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: John Thomas Stankey, Dale W.
