  • Patent number: 8874043
Abstract: A system and method for determining the quality of service in wireless data network by a plurality of mobile devices is provided. In one embodiment, the method includes presenting to a user a plurality of reference content items, for each content item, receiving a reference content item rating indicative of a quality rating provided by the user, wirelessly transmitting a test content item to the mobile device, presenting the transmitted test content item to the user; receiving a test content item rating provided by the user, wherein at least some of the plurality of reference content items comprise content items of known and differing quality, normalizing the test content item rating based on the reference content rating received to provide a normalized test content item rating; and outputting a quality of service performance metric based on the normalized test content item rating.

  • Patent number: 8064900
Abstract: A system and method of testing call performance of a plurality of mobile telephones is provided. In one embodiment the method comprises storing in a memory of a test device, data for one or more test scenarios that each comprises associated test parameters for attempting a plurality of telephone calls, establishing a first Bluetooth connection between the test device and a first mobile telephone, and concurrently with said first Bluetooth connection, establishing a second Bluetooth connection between the test device and a second mobile telephone. The method further comprises transmitting commands to the first and second mobile telephones via the Bluetooth connections to cause the mobile telephones to attempt to establish a plurality of telephone calls of the test scenarios, and monitoring the plurality of telephone calls of the mobile telephones to determine test results data.

  • Publication number: 20090111459
Abstract: A system and method for determining the speech quality of a mobile telephone device is provided. In one embodiment the method comprises providing test speech to the telephone device configured to transmit signals representing the first test speech through a mobile telephone network by a first computer; receiving, at a second computer, signals representative of the first test speech via a communication path that includes the mobile telephone network; determining the speech quality for the received signals representing the first test speech; storing data of the first speech quality in memory; and receiving the data of the first speech quality at the first computer. In addition, the method may include retrieving a second test speech from a memory of the second computer; transmitting the second test speech through the mobile telephone network for reception by the mobile telephone device; and determining a speech quality for the second test speech received by the mobile telephone device by the first computer.
