  • Patent number: 7596094
Abstract: A system and method of notifying a first communication network of a fault related to a second communication network is provided. The first communication network is connected to the second communication network. The first communication network has a first OAM protocol adapted to monitor integrity of the first communication network and the second communication network has a second OAM protocol adapted to monitor integrity of the second communication network. The method includes detecting the fault related to the second communication network and generating a first OAM cell of the first OAM protocol indicating detection of the fault. The method further includes transmitting the first OAM cell to the first communication network to indicate the fault to the first communication network.

  • Publication number: 20080304476
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for providing CES using both Ethernet and MPLS networks. TDM data is packetized and Ethernet encapsulated, and then MPLS encapsulated. Following insertion into an MPLS core network, the packet is routed to a destination MPLS router using MPLS routing. The MPLS encapsulation is then removed, and the resulting Ethernet frame inserted into a destination Ethernet network. The Ethernet frame is routed to a destination Ethernet port using Ethernet routing. The TDM data is extracted, and inserted into the appropriate TDM channel. The invention allows inexpensive Ethernet equipment to be used at the boundary with the TDM network, and a reliable MPLS network with its QoS functionality to be used for any long-haul part of the CES.

  • Patent number: 7451801
Abstract: A removable clip for suspending a vane in a vertical vane covering for an architectural opening from a carrier in a control system comprises a neck for connection to the carrier and spaced downwardly projecting fixed and movable legs having a system for releasable interconnection. The movable leg is connected to the necks of the clip through a living hinge so as to be pivotal about the hinge between open and closed position. In the open position, a vane having a hole adjacent to the top edge thereof can be inserted into the clip connection thereto. The neck of the clip has an opening therethrough for suspension from a hook or ledge on the carrier.

  • Publication number: 20080128098
Abstract: A single-track stacking panel covering for an architectural opening has a headrail for mounting the covering above and in front of the opening, such as a window or door. The headrail has a single track. Suspended from the headrail and translatable therealong are panels oriented at a small angle relative to the headrail. When the covering is open, the panels form an overlappingly stacked array at one end of the headrail.

  • Publication number: 20080120054
Abstract: The compass system of the present invention utilizes an improved calibration route in which a processing circuit of the compass recalibrates the compass each time three data points are obtained from a magnetic field sensor that meet predetermined criteria. One such criterion is that the three data points define corners of a triangle that is substantially non-obtuse. When three data points have been obtained that define a triangle meeting this criterion, the processing circuit calculates a center point for a circle upon which all three data points lie by solving the equation x2+y2+Ax+By+C=0 for A, B, and C, using the coordinate values (x,y) for the three data points and defining the center point as (?A/2, ?B/2).

  • Publication number: 20070261395
Abstract: The invention concerns diesel particulate filter regeneration in an exhaust system of a vehicle having a diesel engine. The particulate filter regeneration is selectively accomplished by actuating a particulate filter backpressure valve located downstream of the diesel particulate filter. Exhaust noise is attenuated for both normal driving and regeneration modes of operation by directing the exhaust flow through different flow paths in a muffler downstream of the diesel particulate filter.

  • Patent number: 7164652
Abstract: A method of re-establishing a connection for a communication link is provided. The link has first and second portions, having the first portion in a first communication network, the second in a second communication network and an interface connecting first portion to the portion. The first communication network has a first communication protocol and a first OAM protocol to monitor integrity of the first portion. Similarly, the second communication network has a second communication protocol and a second OAM protocol. The method utilizes the second OAM protocol to detect a failure in the second portion. Upon detection of the failure, an alternate route for the second portion in the second communication network is identified, where the alternate route is able to complete the second portion of the communication link from the interface. For the communication link, at the interface the second portion is replaced with the alternate route.

  • Patent number: 4791517
Abstract: Protective equipment detects the existence of an unsafe potential (V.sub.2) between earth and mobile equipment such as a mobile cabin. A metal plate (14) is mounted below the chassis (10) of the cabin, and the voltage (V.sub.3) between the metal plate (14) and the chassis (10) is detected by an amplifier (16). The amplifier output feeds a threshold detector (18) which senses when the voltage (V.sub.3) reaches a level corresponding to a predetermined dangerous potential (V.sub.2) of the chassis (10) with respect to ground (12).
