  • Patent number: 6220191
Abstract: The present invention is a planter which embeds planted seeds into the ground and then dispenses liquid in the vicinity of the embedded seeds. The planter includes a flexible arm which drags upon the ground and presses the deposited seeds into the ground and liquid dispensing passage disposed on the flexible arm. The liquid dispensing passage may be integrally with the arm or may be separate from the arm. A flexible hose may be disposed within the passage and connected to a liquid supply tank for communicating the liquid from the supply tank to the embedded seeds. The resulting planted seeds are thereby embedded and substantially free of surrounding air pockets, and provided with liquid after being embedded to provide proper germination and growth.

  • Patent number: 6145866
Abstract: A hitch pin for connecting a drawn vehicle to a towing vehicle. The hitch pin includes a pin having a lower end and a transverse collar near its upper end, a handle mounting member extending upwardly at the upper end, and a handle pivotally connecting to the handle mounting member at an axis. The handle includes a pivot portion having a locking lever biased from pivoting downwardly and a latch portion. A first embodiment of the present invention includes the handle mounting member having two opposing flanges with flat inner surfaces and the pivot portion having flat sides such that pivot portion pivotally connects to the mounting member with the sides respectively facing the inner surfaces. A second embodiment thereof includes the handle mounting member having flat sides and the pivot portion having two opposing flanges with flat inner surfaces such that pivot portion pivotally connects to the mounting member with sides respectively facing the inner surfaces.

A flexible hose may be disposed within the passage and connected to a liquid supply tank for communicating the liquid from the supply tank to the embedded seeds. A diverter disposed at the outlet of the liquid supply diverts the liquid flow from flowing directly over the embedded seed. The resulting planted seeds are thereby embedded and substantially free of surrounding air pockets, and provided with adjacent liquid after being embedded to provide proper germination and growth.

  • Patent number: 5951395
Abstract: The present invention relates to a combine grain receptacle which collects grain and chaff expelled from the combine to allow the operator to determine the amount of grain being expelled from the combine and therefore being wasted. A conventional combine or a rotor combine cuts the crop to be harvested and breaks the crop down into usable grain and unusable chaff. The grain receptacle is releasably attached to the underside of the combine and may be dropped directly upon the field being harvested when the operator so desires. Once the receptacle is released upon the field, the grain and chaff are collected thereon as the combine traverses the field, whereupon the operator will then stop the combine and inspect the receptacle.

  • Patent number: 5730074
Abstract: The present invention is a planter which embeds planted seeds into the ground and then dispenses liquid in the vicinity of the embedded seeds. The planter includes a flexible arm which drags upon the ground and presses the deposited seeds into the ground and a rigid tube which is attached to the flexible arm. A flexible hose extends from a liquid supply tank and is telescopingly received within the rigid conduit for communicating the liquid from the supply tank to the embedded seed. The resulting planted seeds are thereby embedded and substantially free of surrounding air pockets, and provided with liquid after being embedded to provide proper germination and growth.
