Abstract: A cabinet has a base, a top spaced above the base, a pair of opposing cabinet sides extending between the base and the top, and a cabinet space defined between the cabinet sides, the base, and the top. A display space that houses a display device is defined in the cabinet space. A faux front concealing panel is slidably connected with the cabinet and adapted to conceal and reveal the display. The panel has an outward face that presents a visual impression of a bookcase with various books. A transport mechanism is connected between the panel and the cabinet, facilitates sliding the panel, and may hold the panel in a preselected position. Lighting may illuminate the storage space and may include a switch operatively connected with the panel, so the lighting is off when the panel is open.

Abstract: A media cabinet with reversing door is adapted to house multimedia equipment. The door is hinged with the cabinet and adapted to selectively conceal and reveal the equipment. The cabinet may have left and right module sections, each of these module sections having a modular width. The door preferably has the same modular width. The cabinet may further have a center section of two modular widths and a second reversing door. At least one of the left, the center, and the right sections may define an equipment space. The reversing doors may alternatively hinge to conceal the center section, revealing the left and right sections, and hinge to reveal the center section, concealing the left and right module sections. Each door has two opposing face surfaces and presents a closed visual impression in each hinged position of alternatively concealing the center section or concealing the respective left and right sections.

Abstract: A display cabinet with modular slide door is adapted to house a video display device. A cabinet top is spaced above a base, and is generally aligned with the base. The door is slidably connected with the top and adapted to selectively conceal and reveal the display device. The cabinet may have left and right module sections, each of a modular width. The door preferably has the same modular width and may slide from one section to the other and alternatively reveal or conceal each section. The cabinet may further have a center section of two modular widths and a second modular slide door. The center section may define a display space. The modular slide doors may alternatively slide to conceal the display space, revealing the left and right module sections, and slide to reveal the display space, concealing the left and right module sections.

Abstract: A system and method for enabling secure Voice over IP (VoIP) communication includes receiving a request for the generation of a certificate to be used in conjunction with a VoIP communication, generating a certificate in response to the request, the certificate being generated based, at least in part, on a voice sample of a user that made the request, and thereafter making the certificate available for use to enable secure VoIP communication. The system and method preferably leverages the session initiation protocol (SIP).

Abstract: A laptop port includes a well through an aperture in a work surface with various power or data connections in the well and a door with opposing front and back edges. The door hinging between a closed position in which the door is coplanar with the work surface and conceals the well and the connections, and an open position in which the door is in an over-center location and the well and connections are revealed. The pivot is spaced from the back edge and remains closer to the back edge than to the front edge, defining a door tail between the back edge and the pivot. The door is self supporting in the over-center open location, not requiring further mechanisms to hold the door in the open position.

Abstract: Methods and systems for telecommunications operations and controls include (1) an enhanced text message process or methodology that allows a remote user who does not have, already installed, a specialized voice telephony program to nevertheless place and participate in a voice call, (2) call admission control using a “degrees of separation” metric, (3) real time controlled sharing of contact (buddy) lists, (4) multi-service instance messaging conferences, and (5) “meta buddies” or buddy lists that can be automatically imported and made part of a user's own buddy list.
