Abstract: The subject matter described herein is directed to synergistic compositions comprising pyrethrum vapor and a second agent selected from the group consisting of an essential oil and a compound of Formula I. In other embodiments, topical synergistic compositions comprising pyrethrum and an essential oil are described. Additionally described are methods for repelling and controlling arthropods using the synergistic compositions.

The compositions comprise aryl and pyridyl-type compounds. The compounds demonstrate strong vapor and topical repellency when applied alone and in synergistic compositions.

The compositions comprise acids, esters, aldehydes, or alcohols of pyrethroid-type compounds. The compounds, particularly the pyrethroid-type acids, demonstrate excellent repellency when applied both alone and in synergistic compositions.

Abstract: Described herein are compositions and methods relating to insecticides. In additional embodiments according to the present disclosure, administration devices and methods of such are also described. In certain aspects, compositions and methods as described herein comprise “Cha Plu” (Piper sarmentosum) extract. In certain aspects, compositions and methods as described herein further comprise an insecticide, for example natural pyrethrins or derivatives thereof. Compositions and methods as described herein utilize effective amounts of active ingredients of such compositions to induce knockdown and/or mortality of pests based on synergistic action of the “Cha Plu” (Piper sarmentosum) extract and natural pyrethrins together.

Abstract: The present invention provides methods of protecting plants and other multicellular organisms from the parasitic activity of nematodes and insects. The methods use compounds, such as stilbene compounds, as nematicidal and insecticidal compounds, which act to alter the activity of one or more anion transporters in the nematodes and insects. Methods of screening for such compounds are also provided.
