Publication number: 20170228397Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include systems, methods, and computer-program products for a feedback loop for enhancing archive validation and retention parameter determination for documents. The system may generate or receive image documents. Utilizing image quality and data storage metrics the system may trigger the purging and/or retention of documents in image and/or paper form. Upon retention, the system may continually monitor the documents and store metadata associated with the use of the retained documents. Once the documents are purged, the system compiles historic data points associated with the image quality and data storage metrics. Furthermore, the system extracts the metadata associated with the monitoring of retained documents. These data points and metadata are reviewed to provide revisions in retention parameters for specific documents. A feedback loop directly communicates and integrates the revisions to the metric and criteria for instant integration.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 8, 2016Publication date: August 10, 2017Inventors: Kerry M. Publication number: 20150262148Abstract: Apparatus for executing a method to determine whether or not a service request is eligible for straight through processing is provided. The apparatus may receive a service request from an online banking portal. The service request may include an adjustment value. The adjustment value may be a numerical difference between a first value of a check deposited in a customer account and a second value of a check entered into the online banking portal. The service request may also include a time of day during which the service request was requested and/or completed. The apparatus may determine if the adjustment value is less than a threshold value. If the adjustment value is less than the threshold value, the apparatus may transmit the service request to a straight through processing platform and to electronically display on the online banking portal a soft post notifying a user of a credit.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 11, 2014Publication date: September 17, 2015Applicant: Bank of America CorporationInventors: Michelle D. Nichols, Debbie J. Adams, David Bohn, Jeffrey R. Goertz, Janice A. Melanson, John E. Scully, Ken L. Snellings, Billy Scott Tapp

Patent number: 8078518Abstract: An ATM exception balancing system is disclosed. Embodiments of the invention provide a method of resolving image ATM transaction exceptions and enabling reconcilement of ATM transactions. An exception record can be created and stored for each batch of image ATM transactions wherein the credit and the debit for the batch of image ATM transactions do not match, and the exception record can be displayed to an analyst. Input can be received from the analyst indicating a resolution of an exception. Possible resolutions can include a general ledger entry, a customer adjustment, and/or an ICA/WIP entry. The system can optionally provide for reporting and performance analysis. Image ATM cash transactions, image ATM check transactions, or both, can be included.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 2009Date of Patent: December 13, 2011Assignee: Bank of America CorporationInventors: Jeffrey R. Goertz, Ivette Yoshida, Susan Joslin, Tony Hopkins
