  • Patent number: 10785981
Abstract: Immune function of a plant can be modulated by administering a composition comprising beta glucan, where the beta glucan includes unbranched beta-(1,3)-glucan. Such unbranched beta-(1,3)-glucan can be obtained from Euglena, including heterotrophically grown Euglena. The unbranched beta-(1,3)-glucan can be in the form of paramylon and/or can be part of algae meal. The composition can further include a fertilizer, a pesticide, a fungicide, a bactericide, combinations thereof, as well as one or more various plant immune system modulators other than beta glucan. The wellbeing of the plant seed, seedling, mature plant, or harvested plant product can accordingly be improved.

  • Patent number: 10445472
Abstract: A cap for a medication container includes a housing with a top portion and a bottom portion. The top and bottom portions together define a cavity therebetween. A sliding plate is disposed in the cavity adjacent the bottom portion. A microcontroller with a contact sensor is disposed in the cavity between the top portion and the sliding plate. The sliding plate is configured to slide toward and activate the contact sensor where the cap is secured to the medication container in a closed state. The sliding plate is also configured to slide away from and not activate the contact sensor where the cap is removed from the medication container in an open state.

  • Publication number: 20140300273
Abstract: A light-emitting container (2) such as a bottle includes a hollow vessel (4) and a light-emitting device (6). The vessel (4) has an open end (8) and a closed end (10). At least a portion of the vessel (4) is one of transparent and translucent. The light-emitting device (6) is disposed adjacent the closed end (10) of the vessel (4). The light-emitting device (6) includes a microcontroller (14) in electrical communication with at least one light source (16). The microcontroller (14) selectively causes one of an activation and a deactivation of the at least one light source (16). A light emitted from the at least one light source (16) is transmitted through the vessel (4) upon the activation of the at least one light source (16).
