  • Publication number: 20250084789
Abstract: A turbine engine for an aircraft. The turbine engine includes a combustor fluidly coupled to a fuel delivery assembly to receive fuel from the fuel delivery assembly. The fuel is injected into the combustor and combusted in the combustor to generate combustion gases. A condenser is located downstream of a turbine to receive the combustion gases and to condense water. The fuel heat exchanger is thermally coupled to the condenser to receive heat from the water condensed by the condenser. The fuel heat exchanger is located in the fuel delivery assembly to receive the fuel and to transfer the heat received from the water to the fuel. The boiler is located downstream of the fuel heat exchanger. The boiler receives the water and is fluidly connected to the combustor to receive the combustion gases and to boil the water to generate steam.

  • Publication number: 20250083978
Abstract: Per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are destroyed by oxidation in supercritical conditions. PFAS in water can be concentrated and prepared for destruction in a pretreatment phase. Following annihilation of the PFAS in supercritical conditions to levels below 5 parts per trillion (ppt), the water effluent can be used to recover heat, returned to sub-critical conditions, and then released back into the environment.

  • Publication number: 20250052175
Abstract: A turbine engine for an aircraft. The turbine engine includes a fan, a combustor in a core air flowpath that generates combustion gases, a core shaft, a turbine that receives the combustion gases to rotate the turbine, and a steam system. The steam system extracts water from the combustion gases, vaporizes the water to generate steam, and injects the steam into the core air flowpath. The steam system includes one or more water storage devices that store the water therein. The one or more water storage devices include a first state in which the one or more water storage devices increase or maintain a level of the water as the water flows through the one or more water storage devices, and a second state in which the one or more water storage devices decrease the level of the water in the one or more water storage devices.

  • Publication number: 20250039263
Abstract: An application is installed on a computing device from an application package. An origin of the application (e.g., a managed installer for an enterprise, a reputation checking service) is propagated to files written to a storage device of the computing device as part of the installation, such as by writing origin information to the storage device as metadata associated with the file. The origin information for a file, in conjunction with a policy on the computing device specifying one or more trusted origins for applications on the computing device, is used to identify whether a particular action can be taken with and/or by the file. These actions can include, for example, execution of an application from an executable file. If the origin information for a file indicates an origin that is a trusted origin specified by the policy, then the action can be performed.

  • Publication number: 20250026327
Abstract: An autonomous emergency braking system includes a sensor generating a collision risk signal indicative of an object in a path of travel of the vehicle and a controller. The controller determines whether an indication of a mass of the vehicle is present and, if so, adjusts a default deceleration value corresponding to a predetermined rate of deceleration for the vehicle in response to the mass to obtain a mass-adjusted deceleration value. The controller establishes, responsive to the mass-adjusted deceleration value, successive times for generating first and second braking commands to an engine or brake controller or increasing braking forces for the first and second braking commands configured to cause deceleration of the vehicle at first and second rates of deceleration, the second rate greater than the first. The first and second braking commands are generated responsive to the collision risk signal.

  • Patent number: 12201391
Abstract: A medical device includes a clevis, a first blade, a second blade, and a tension member. The first and second blades are rotatably coupled to the clevis. The first blade includes a first coupling portion. The tension member is coupled to the first blade and applies a torque to the first blade to rotate the first blade about the clevis between a first, second, and third orientation. The second blade includes a second coupling portion. The second coupling portion is coupled to the first coupling portion such that A) the second blade remains in a fixed position relative to the clevis when the first blade is between the first and second orientation, and B) rotation of the first retractor blade between the second and third orientation transfers at least a portion of the torque to the second retractor blade causing rotation of the second blade about the clevis.

  • Patent number: 5902076
Abstract: A magnetic based drill assembly comprising a support platform mounted to the magnetic base for attachment to a work piece includes a feed mechanism operatively connected to the platform for rectilinear movement between a fully retracted position and a fully extended position. The feed mechanism includes a splined collar slidably mounted to the splined arbor for movement relative to the splined arbor and for rotatably supporting a drive tool. The motor is mounted in a stationary position offset and substantially parallel to the feed mechanism to reduce overall height and weight of the drill assembly. As the splined arbor is located within a cylindrical feed arbor a liquid coolant can be directly injected on the drill tool and workpiece during operation of the drill assembly. Further, an electrical feed rate monitor provides a signal to the user to indicate the optimal feed rate of the drill tool.
