  • Patent number: 8671130
Abstract: A system for managing the exchange of data items between a mail database on a mail server and a mobile communication device operable to send and receive data items over a wireless network, wherein the mail database and the mobile communication device are associated with a user address and wherein the data items are stored in the mail database and referenced by corresponding mail database identifiers, includes a state database associated with the user address. The state database is operable to receive and store the mail database identifiers corresponding to the data items stored in the mail database.

  • Patent number: 8615559
Abstract: A method is performed by an electronic communication device. The device receives a first text message, including a message body, from a sender. The device receives a second text message, including a message body, from the same sender. The device identifies information that is common to both message bodies as address card information. The address card information is displayed. The device prompts a manual verification that the address card information is valid.

  • Patent number: 8335521
Abstract: The present application provides a system for proximity awareness for mobile data communication on an electronic communication device comprising a client application on an electronic communication device communicating across a wireless network, and an awareness server that includes a plurality of server objects that monitor multiple devices on a wireless communication network. In addition, the client application on the electronic communication device comprises a plurality of software objects. The client application periodically broadcasts the current wireless tower that the device is communicating on to the awareness server. The awareness server tracks the location of other Tower IDs of other users in the individual's contact list. If there is a match in Tower IDs, an alert is sent to both users that they are in proximity to each other.

  • Patent number: 7299406
Abstract: A representation of a spreadsheet is displayed on a mobile communication device after receiving a description of a spreadsheet. The description relates to a plurality of map cells, where each map cell corresponds to a cell block, and the description includes location information and primary data type information for each map cell. Based on the location and content-type information in the description, a pictorial representation of the spreadsheet may be generated and displayed to a user of the mobile communication device. A mobile device server may not only generate the description, but also may interpret the user's selection of a region of interest and transmit enough information about the region of interest for the mobile communication device to present the region of interest to the user in a conventional viewer.
